THIRD PERSON POV
________________
isak had just gotten onto his bus back to oslo, his hometown. he had been out with friends all day and honestly, decided to never do it again. sure, he enjoyed himself, but he wasn't the most social person and to be out that far from home was definitely out of his comfort zone just to see people that he'd see everyday at school anyways.he had his earbuds shoved into his ears, his head slightly bobbing his head up and down to the beat of the song. N.W.A is what he was listening to, of course. it was his favorite.
the bus still hadn't taken off, and only did as soon as the last person waiting had stepped on. isak was impatient to get home. his feet were aching from walking all day around the city, he was exhausted, all he wanted was to hop into bed and fall asleep.
when he finally felt movement, he let out a small sigh of relief. the sooner he was home the better. he leaned up against the wall of the bus, thankful that he had a window seat. he stared outside the window impassively, bored, tired.
everything was perfectly fine and going smoothly. the bus drive was about 30 more minutes. maybe he could just sleep until he had reached his destination. right when he was about to close his eyes, something caught his attention.
there was a tall blonde, running up beside the bus, yelling something isak could not hear due to the loud music blasting into his ears and waving his arms around like some crazy person. isak furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, trying to grasp the situation before acting out until the boy running saw him and they locked eye contact.
the boy began pointing to the front part of the bus, breathless and starting to slow down out of exhaustion. isak stood up abruptly, "uh- uh, hey, there's someone out here! they need to get on the bus!" isak yelled, catching the bus drivers attention.
suddenly, the brakes were hit, the bus slowed down and pulled over. the blonde boy slowed down as well, catching his breath as the doors opened and he stepped onto the bus, panting for air and his cheeks slightly red from the action.
his eyes immediately met isak's, yet he spoke to the bus driver still maintaining intense eye contact with me, and isak found myself unable to look away. "thanks." he said shortly to the driver, and isak's heart rate increased by a lot to say the least when he saw the boy walking towards him.
he didn't walk normally. well- he did, but just the way this guy walked was so elegant, yet confident at the same time. self assured and put together, it was intimidating and inspiring at the same time.
"hey," he said, and God, isak's stomach went crazy when he heard that voice. it was so deep, unlike any other he had heard, not to mention his gorgeous face up close. isak only gulped, nerves getting the best of him as he found it too hard to find words. "thank you for that, i don't know what i would've done if i had missed it."
isak stared up at him blankly, yet on the inside he was a nervous wreck that someone so stunning could be speaking to him. he barely nodded, "yeah, no problem."
the boys lips parted as if he wanted to continue the conversation, and eventually, he did. "this seat taken?" he asked, resolving in isak shaking his head No. the blonde sat beside him, not too close but not too far. just right. "i'm even."
the smaller boy saw this supposedly, 'even', sticking his hand out for him to shake. isak grabbed his hand gently and shook it, hoping that even didn't see the way his fingers were slightly shaky. "isak." he replied bluntly.
even smiled softly with a very small laugh, that if you weren't paying attention you wouldn't be able to hear it. trust me, isak was paying attention. "so, isak, where are you heading to?"
"home." he answered, and after a moment, felt rude for not returning the question. though it was late, it was still polite to ask, "you?"
"work, which is why i was in such a rush to get on this bus. next time, i'm riding my bike." he chuckled and then paused as if thinking about something deeply, "i work at kaffeebrenneriet, have you been?"
that name rung a bell. isak hadn't been there, but he had definitely heard of it. "kaffeebrenneriet, the one by nissen, right?"
"yeah."
"i go to nissen. most of my friends go there before or after school... it's pretty popular at that school since it's so close." isak replied, finally getting comfortable enough to talk.
"really?!" even said a little too excitedly, he internally calmed himself down and relaxed, "i'm transferring there after summer. i currently go to elvebakken, hell school."
isak snickered, "hell school? why is that?"
even sucked in a sharp breath with wide eyes dramatically, "you don't even want to know. okay- well, maybe i'm being a little excessive, but it was bad."
the smaller boy got these vibes that even didn't want to go into detail, so he left it at that.
the rest of the bus drive, they chatted. they chatted a lot- and even exchanged numbers. once they started school together, they said hello whenever they came across each others paths, and there was much more to add on to that.
