ISAK POV
________

it was 2AM, i was insanely drunk and could barely think straight as i walked up to my front doorstep. i reached into my front pocket jeans where i usually kept my keys, but something wasn't right.

my eyes widened when i realized they weren't in there. i furrowed my eyebrows, double checking just to be sure and even checking my other pockets. my eyes scanned around the floor, checking to see if they had maybe fallen out but i couldn't see anything.

i glanced back, seeing that my uber had left already and wondered if maybe i left my keys in there. i began to panic and banged on my door before realizing that my roommate, eskild was out doing who knows what tonight. i ran a hand over my face, sitting down and trying to decide what to do.

i pulled my phone out, pulling up eskild's contact and shooting him a quick text.

"can you come home? i'm lost my keys and locked out of the house. so drunk rn." as i pressed send, i stared at the lit up screen for awhile, waiting desperately for a response but after ten minutes of waiting, i came to the conclusion that he was asleep or doing something that i really didn't want to know.

there was no way i was about to sleep outside. i'd walk all the way to jonas' house and risk getting kidnapped than that, but that was my last option. i needed to think of another way.

me being the idiot i am barely realized i had neighbors. my next door neighbor actually went to the same school as me and he didn't seem like a psychopath or anything, so i decided to head over there even though his lights were off.

i staggered over to the house, making my way to the front door and knocking loudly. after thirty seconds without a response, i began to grow impatient and started banging on the door without stopping.

the light flickered on and before i could stop my hands movements, the door swung open- causing me to fall forward by being startled and landing on my side.

i groaned in pain, my eyes squeezed shut in pain as my side ached. "what was that for?!" i yelled, opening my eyes to see the figure towering over me.

"what do you think you're doing?" he scolded, ignoring me question furrowing his eyebrows. "don't you know what time it is?"

he must've already been awake because no one wakes up in the middle of the night looking like that. his hair was still styled yet somehow messy, as if he had done it earlier in the day and it got worn out. he was fully clothed with grey sweatpants and a white t shirt. even his face- he didn't look the least bit tired, if anything he looked fully awake and energized with no eye bags or dark circles. i think i'm analyzing this too much.

"yeah, i do." i grumbled, standing up and wiping my jeans off. after doing that, i looked up at him and met his eyes. "the thing is... i locked myself out by accident and let's just say, i've been drinking a lot tonight." i slurred, my expression serious as i explained the situation to him.

"so... are you asking to crash here, or?" he asked, raising an eyebrow and scratching the back of his neck. i nodded, my mood being lifted in hopes that i wouldn't be sleeping with the bugs tonight.

"i mean- if that's okay with you, then yes. i have nowhere else to go." i murmured, standing there awkwardly.

he seemed a bit hesitant which was understandable, considering we didn't know each other too well, but eventually, he shrugged. "as long as you're not gonna murder me, i guess it's fine."

instant relief hit me and i honestly didn't know how to thank him. "r-really?! thank you- geez, i don't know what i would've done if i ended up on some random bench." i joked, chuckling a bit.
