THIRD PERSON POV
________________a loud slam slightly shook the house, awaking isak with a jolt. his eyes fluttered open, glancing at the alarm clock on his nightstand which read '3 AM'.
"what was that?" he groaned, rubbing his eyes and reaching his hand over to his boyfriend, but all he felt was an empty bed. he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, looking over his shoulder to see no sign of even.
it took a moment to sink in before isak realized something was wrong and that loud slam probably had something to do with even. he immediately got up, noticing his bedroom door was wide open even though he left it closed before he had gone to sleep.
oh no, not again, isak thought fearfully.
panic struck through his veins as he quickly grabbed a shirt from his hamper, slipping it over his upper half quickly before leaving his room in a rush. as he made his way to the front door, he noticed it was unlocked and began to grow more paranoid. he grabbed a pair of shoes that were laying by the door, almost tripping as he slid them on his feet as fast as possible.
he swung the door open, finally acknowledging the fact that it was pouring outside. ignoring the cold rain, he stepped out knowing he needed to find even. it had been months since even had an episode- isak honestly had forgotten about it.
water droplets landed on isak's body, trickling down his head as he frantically scanned around the area. it was too dark to see anything, but he wouldn't spare any time.
"even?!" isak called out as he walked around, holding his hand above his eyes in an attempt to see better through all this rain. even if his boyfriend was out here, it'd be extremely difficult to hear him due to the loud noises of hard rain and his shoes sloshing in the mud.
receiving no response, adrenaline started to kick into isak's veins, not knowing what could happen considering last time even was full on naked and ran out into the city. "even!?" he yelled again.
still walking, he ran a hand over his face in distress. "okay, isak- he'll be okay, just relax." he said to himself, trying to calm down- but it really wasn't helping, especially since he didn't know if even would be okay. that's the thing about these episodes- they were completely unpredictable.
"isak?" a faint voice said barely audible during this weather.
isak's head snapped in that direction, looking all over with wide eyes but still not seeing anyone. "even?! even, is that you?"
"i'm over here." the small voice replied again from a low point.
he looked down, seeing his boyfriend sitting down on the ground against a tree, his clothes drenched in water and mud. as terrible as his state looked, isak still felt so relieved that even was in sight.
"baby-" isak muttered, his voice shaky as he tried not to cry. "what are you doing out here?" he put his hands out which the taller boy grabbed, pulling him up so that he was standing up.
even shrugged nonchalantly as if there was nothing wrong. "i was looking for a flower to give to you."
"in the middle of the night?" isak sighed, but before even could reply, he pulled him into his arms- not even caring about the mud on his body. "come on, let's get you home where it's nice and warm."
the two walked home, and at first even wanted to protest because he hadn't gotten isak a flower yet- but decided against it because the smaller boy was so persistent to getting home.
the two could care less about the trail of muddy footprints that led through the house as they entered. all that mattered to isak was that even was safe and back inside.
"i'm kind of in the mood for cookies. want to bake some?" even asked, not even knowing what time it actually was.
"it's 3 AM." isak replied, leading even into the bathroom so he could clean him up. "besides- you can't bake like that. let's get you in a warm shower while i wash our clothes, yeah?"
even nodded, but it was clear that he was slightly puzzled at why isak was fussing so much.
isak was just happy he was okay, and with that thought, he gave his boyfriend an affectionate kiss to make it known that he cared about him more than anything, even though it would never be able to show how much he really loved him.
