THIRD PERSON POV
________________

"what's going on in that pretty little brain of yours?"

even asked isak who was laying beside him on a blanket they had sprawled out on the grass. it was 2 AM, they were smoking as they looked up the stars. isak glanced over at him.

"how i wish we could do this every night, get high and forget about all our problems." isak sighed, specifically thinking about his own homophobic parents that he had constantly worried about since he realized he had feelings for even.

he wasn't even out to his friends. in fact, the whole thing going on between the two was a secret. it was between them and them only, and at the moment- they were okay with that. of course isak wanted to come out eventually, but he wasn't ready yet.

even chuckled, eyes still glued to the sky as he was stuck in thought. "you really like that stuff, don't you?" he asked, referring to the blunt placed in isak's fingers.

"i do." he responded with a small laugh, looking back up at the stars as well as the tip of the blunt met his lips. "what about you? what's on your mind?"

even was silent for a moment, "us." he said shortly, not being descriptive at all.

"what about us?"

he inhaled a sharp breath as if he was hoping isak wouldn't ask that. "i don't know," he breathed, eyes darting over to isak's cute face. "i guess i'm just worried."

isak furrowed his eyebrows, meeting the other boys' gaze as he blew smoke out of his mouth. "worried? why?"

even stared into his eyes. another question he hoped isak wouldn't ask. "just that-... worried that you won't want something serious. mainly because of your parents."

the smaller boy paused, letting out a small sigh as he let that sink in. it was a topic he hated talking about, but knew he needed to address it at some point. isak felt even take the blunt from him, inhaling the smoke as he spoke. "i do want something serious." he said, catching even's undying attention. "i mean- yes, of course i'm scared of my parents reaction but... i'm not that close to them."

"meaning...?"

"meaning that if they are unaccepting, it'll hurt at first, but i'll get over it. their opinion of me isn't one i'm going to worry too much over." isak explained, knowing that his parents wouldn't be okay with it without even having to tell them. "as for you..." he continued, reaching his hand over to even's face where he ran his thumb across even's lower lip. "you don't have to worry about them or me. i like you a lot, and that's not gonna change any time soon."

even let isak's assuring words sink in as he softly smiled at him. after a moment of intense eye contact, isak built up the courage to lift himself up over even so that he was hovering over him, using him arms as support. the corners of his lips tugged upwards as he leaned down and connected their lips.

after a brief kiss, isak pulled back, already feeling slightly flushed at the contact and blushed a bit.

"that's it?" even teased, an amused smirk on his face yet it was clear that he wanted more.

isak snickered, rolling his eyes but didn't hesitate to give in and lean down once more, pressing his lips softly against the boys' under him. this time, the kiss was much more fervent, long and tender. he knew he'd never forget this magical moment of pure bliss.

their lips moved against each other in sync, causing both boys to get tingles all over their bodies at the contact. they couldn't get enough of each other and their touch.

even's hand placed gently at the back of isak's neck in attempt to pull him closer (if that was even possible.) they were rudely interrupted when a cricket jumped on even's face, causing him to screech like a little girl as he jumped up in fear.

isak jumped as well because of even's loud scream, confused as to why he did that. "there was a freaking cricket on my face!" even yelled, now sitting up with isak sitting on his lap.

the two boys decided to pack up for the night after that experience and after saying their goodbyes and a couple of kisses, they promised to see each other again the next day and knew they'd never forget about that little cricket that ruined their moment.
