Chapter 13
Cat : Good :: Kri...itty Cat : Bad
"Hello, Mr. James."
I don't know what I felt for the principal except for maybe some respect. Unlike a lot of people in my pack, they think they have to treat me different because I'm the soon to be alpha. While, yes I need my repect so do them and I don't expect them to be my slave or anything. But Mr. Robert G. Grayson or Principal Grayson was not like that. He was sometimes rude in a ... crude type of way but he was older than me and acted that way with everyone so I didn't really care to do anything about it.
"Hey Principal Grayson." I greeted and sat down in a stair opposite of him.
"Why do you have a cat on your shoulder?" He imediately asked looking at Kriss who was curled into the crook of my neck.
I tried for funny, looking at Kriss in shock, "Oh, that's why everyone has been giving me weird looks today." I chuckled nervously. Principal Grayson only raised an eyebrow. Outside of school Robert was a very enjoyable, laughing man but in school he was a very serious principal. I sighed, The less people who knew about Kriss, the better but this was needed.
So I explained to Robert Grayson only the main parts of why Kriss was here but left out most of the detail. "So I need to keep Kriss around, you know, just incase the Rufus family or cat clan tries to get her." I lied at the end but I wasn't going to waste time explaining how I found her in my backpack.
Principal Grayson sighed loudly. "Okay." He said finally. Just okay, no arguing. "Okay," He repeated. "You are the soon-to-be alpha and if this is what you think is best then I trust your decition. You're a good kid, Emerson, and I hope this Kriss girl will end up well. Here," He handed me a yellow slip of paper. "I'm going to pull a few stings so if anyone questions about the cat show them this."
I let out a breath I hadn't realized I was holding before standing up. "Thank you so much, Principal Grayson."
"Just take care of that girl, you hear?" He told me as I walked out of the door.
"Will do, sir." Was the last thing I said before leaving. Why was everyone thinking I wouldn't take care of Kriss?
[Fourth Period]
Thank god for the pass that Principal Grayson gave me.
Only one teacher hadn't yelled at me, lectured me, then gave me the stank eye when I showed them the pass and that was Mr. Herbert who was rumored to be on drugs. One teacher even thought I had forged the note saying I couldn't have a cat and called in the principal. That was a very dramatized third period.
But after the drugged up smelling, fourth period room with Mr. Herbert, we had lunch. Heavenly lunch. Okay, yeah the cafeteria food isn't the best but it wasn't ... inedible. Their pizza was shit but the chicken nuggets were good and that's exactly what I got. Add some ketchup to those bitches and you got the best damn chicken nuggets you've ever tasted.
Not really, I lied.
Kriss was wide awake when I had gotten to my table where I normally sit, in the seat i always sit at. I had set my food in the way I always do. We get eight chicken nuggets and I put them all in a row on the left, some ketchup is placed exactly opposite of them with the sides to the right and the plastic utensils placed where they should be.
Very strategic, I know.
I could feel Kriss clawing to get higher onto my head, scratching at my ear as I put a straw in my drink. I kind of hurt with her claws sratching and I let out a yelp when one claw slashed on my earlobe. I frowned, picking Kriss up by the scruff of her neck and setting her down on the table.
