"On time. I'm very impressed, Lauren. It seems Camila has already had a great deal of influence on you."

I laughed at Normani, and glanced towards Lauren who rolled her eyes.

"I don't know what you're talking about." The green eyed girl said. "I'm always on time."

"Wrong." Normani retorted. "I keep all records of your tardiness in my office, as a matter of fact."

"Never mind, I better stop talking." Lauren said dismissively with a chuckle. "You're right. Whatever."

Normani seemed pleased with Lauren's admission to defeat, and proceeded to lead us into the recording studio.

"I want to hear as many of your songs as possible Camila." She told me. "I want to get the full picture of what you're capable of. We have a mic set up for you already, and a guitar and keyboard if you so choose to use them."

"Thank you." I replied, and walked into the other section of the studio where the mic was waiting for me.

I adjusted it to my height, and got myself comfortable.

There were five songs I'd chosen to show Normani. Four of them were ones Lauren had already heard, and one of them was a new one she hadn't.

I grabbed the guitar, made sure it was in tune, and played through the first four songs.

I started with Havana, then moved to Crying in the Club, then In The Dark, and finally I Have Questions.

Normani seemed intrigued in each and every single one of them, and her team was apparently taking notes as I was playing. Maybe they were evaluating me.

I moved to play the keyboard for the last song, taking the mic with me. I placed it down and adjusted it once again, and then I took a deep breath as I sat down on the bench in front of the piano.

"Those were all lovely, Camila." Normani's voice sounded through the loudspeakers. "Which one will you be singing for us next?"

"This is the last one I'm going to be sharing today." I told her. "It's called Something's Gotta Give. I hope you all like it."

Without any further delay, I began the song.

Loving you I thought I couldn't get no higher.
Your November rain could set the night on fire, night on fire.
But we could only burn so long
Counterfeit emotions only run skin deep
Know you're lying when you're lying next to me, next to me.

How did we get so far gone?
I should know by now, you should know by now,
We should know by now.

Something's gotta give, something's gotta break,
But all I do is give and all you do is take.
Something's gotta change, but I know that it won't.
No reason to stay, is a good reason to go
Is a good reason to go.

I have never heard a silence quite so loud.
I walk in the room and you don't make a sound, make a sound.
You're good at making me feel small.
If it doesn't hurt me, why do I still cry?
If it didn't kill me, then I'm half alive.
Half alive.

How did we get so far gone?
I should know by now, you should know by now,
We should know by now.

Something's gotta give, something's gotta break,
But all I do is give and all you do is take.
Something's gotta change, but I know that it won't.
No reason to stay, is a good reason to go.
Is a good reason to go.
