It had only been half an hour since Evan shouted out Connor on his story, but Jared Kleinman already saw it. Curious, he had tapped the username and visited "c.murphreak"'s profile. Jared tapped his screen again, this time to pull up Connor's most recent post.
The poem was still there.
Jared's mind pieced the words together quicker than Evan had. His stomach dropped, but Jared's eyebrows raised, perplexed, when he saw that Evan had liked it.
He scrolled down and quickly read a couple other posts, each one liked by Evan. A few of them were kind of weird; one poems' words described going behind the school—in a dark, secluded place—and getting high. Again, Evan had liked it.
Jared squinted. Was this some kind of sex thing?
He snorted to himself.
Then, a wicked idea formed in his head. Jared sent the post to Evan Hansen.

Evan read Jared's DM within seconds but didn't respond immediately. Jared watched, amused, as the three little dots repeatedly appeared and disappeared.
