A/N: Only 5 chapters left of this book

Kirstie was slightly hysterical by the time the band reached the hospital. She had been gripping onto Matt's hand the whole way and had been attempting to keep tears at bay. Dre had called ahead for them, so they were met at the doors by a doctor and two nurses.

"Come right on through." The doctor said. Scott carried Kirstie through the emergency department and then put her down on the bed in her room. Since Dre had called ahead, the hospital had saved a private room for her.

"It hurts!" Kirstie cried.

"I know honey. It'll be okay." Matt said, trying to calm her down.

"What week are you in?" the doctor asked.

"Thirty. It's too soon! She's not ready!" Kirstie replied.

"Okay. Deep breaths. It'll be alright. Babies can live outside the womb from 24 weeks. Girls tend to do better when they're premature, but she will have to be in an incubator for a little while." The doctor explained. "First we need to get you on the monitors and see if we can slow things down."

Matt stayed with Kirstie through the exam, whilst the other boys left the room to call the penta-parents.

"Hey Angelica, it's Scott. You need to get to the hospital as soon as you can. Kirstie's water broke." That was all Scott needed to say for Angelica to be on her way, then he phoned his own parents. Mitch phoned his parents and Matt's parents, having very similar conversations. Kevin also phoned his parents to let them know what was going on.

All of their phones were going insane with social media notifications. All the fans from the show were worried about Kirstie and anyone that wasn't on the show had found out what had happened. They had already got the hashtags '#PrayForKirstie' and '#BabyMaldonado' trending worldwide. Once the band knew what was going on, they could update the fans. For now, Kirstie and the baby were the main priority.

The band went back into Kirstie's room, where Matt was giving her a hug and rubbing her back. Matt looked up when the others came in, but Kirstie just gripped onto Matt even harder.

"It's okay. Just breathe." Matt said. Kirstie let go of Matt after a minute and lay back in the bed.

"How are you feeling?" Kevin asked.

"Hurts. The doctors can't stop it. She's too early!" Kirstie replied almost chocking on her tears.

"You're in the best place, the doctors can keep her safe." Kevin said, trying to keep Kirstie calm. Panicking would not help right now.

Angelica arrived about 15 minutes later and went straight to her daughters' side.

"Mum I'm so scared." Kirstie said.

"It'll be okay. Just try to relax." Angelica said.

"But she's too early." Kirstie said.

"I know. She'll be safe. If she's anything like you, she'll be perfectly fine. Like I always told you, just because you're small doesn't mean you're not strong." Kirstie leant into her mother and grimaced at another contraction.

Just then, the doctor came into the room. The boys backed out of the way, so the doctor could look at Kirstie.

"Hey hun. How are you feeling?" the doctor asked.

"It hurts." Kirstie replied. "I can't do this."

"Yes you can. Trust your body. Can I check how dilated you are?" the doctor asked. Kirstie nodded and shifted on the bed. It was a few minutes of quiet, and Kirstie groaning a bit from the contractions, before the doctor pulled away again.

"You're about 5cm dilated already, so you must've been having contractions most of the day. Either that or you progressed really fast when your waters went. You're definitely going to have this baby today. I'll come back and check on you in a bit." The doctor said. After the doctor left, the boys looked at Kirstie.

"Were you having contractions all day?" Scott asked.

"I guess so. I thought it was braxton-hicks again." Kirstie replied.

"Makes sense. It'll be worth it though. You finally get to meet her today." Angelica said.
