The first week wasn't bad at all. All of my classes let out early, so I was able to take a really good naps and then return home by 5:15. I'm glad I was still able to chill with my girls and Devin because once I start getting homework, I'll be I'm grind mode. I park my car, in the employee parking lot, far away from the hotel. I haven't been in over a week and I need to regroup. I take a few breaths, before getting out of the car. "Charity," I hear someone call. It's Marcus, walking toward my car. He has a gift bag, in his hand. Is that for me? "Hey, Marcus. How are you?" I ask. "I'm good, taking a little break. Here you go." He hands me the bag. "Thank you. You really didn't have to get me anything." "It's okay, I wanted to. See you inside." He walks back inside. I look in the bag and see fragrances and a card. "Damn, this smells good." I spray one of the perfumes. It's by Rihanna. Nice! I open the card and a $100 bill slides down. Woah. Did this man really just give me a whole $100? I look around, before shoving everything back into the bag. I throw the bag in my trunk and rush inside.

Malika is going to be holding it down, with me and Teyana today. "Hey y'all," I say, as I enter. We give our hugs and begin our shift. The entire time, all I can think about is Marcus' gift. That's way too generous. I need to get Teyana alone, to tell her. She's going to flip. I get a "Good morning, beautiful" text, from Devin. He's so sweet. For some reason, guilt covers my entire body. I mean, Devin and I aren't together yet and Marcus' gesture was just that, a gesture. Right?

Malika takes a bathroom break and I grab Teyana. "Girl, what's wrong?" She worries. "I think you might be right." I say, while looking around. I'm sure Marcus will be coming around, soon. "About what? I'm right about a lot of shit." She laughs. "I'm dead ass right now. Marcus gave me $100 and Rihanna perfume," I whisper. "What?" She practically yells. I shush the hell out of her as Marcus turns the corner. I haven't even thanked him yet. "How y'all holding up?" He asks. "Just barely," Teyana jokes. This girl is an actress, acting like she didn't just find out some crazy information. Marcus laughs. I fake a laugh. "You okay Charity?" He asks. "Yes, I'm fine. Thank you." I smile. I wish this could count as my thank you, for the gift, too. He winks and heads toward the kitchen. Teyana and I stare at each other wide eyed. "I was just joking around but maybe he DOES want you." "Or maybe he's just nice." "Yea, I mean I guess he could be. Just be careful. Chocolate is a sin." She laughs.

I text Marcus, to thank him, for the gift. I let him know that it was extremely generous. Of course he replies with "It's my pleasure" with a winking emoji. Malika comes back, so I get back to what I'm supposed to be doing. As I put my phone in my pocket, a potential stayer walks in. I freeze in place, when I realize who it is. "YFN Lucci." Teyana says, like she knows him personally. He has three other people with him. I assume two are his security and one is his friend/assistant. "We have a reservation, for Todd Hanks," his friend says. I know that's not Lucci's real name or probably any of theirs but I remember making the reservation. "Oh yea I remember that." I say out loud. "Oh it was you I talked to?" His friend asks. "Yea that was me." I laugh nervously. Lucci and his friend are both fine. I can't take it. "I should've known you'd have a sweet face to match that voice." Teyana laughs so hard. "Boyyy, if you don't..." "Tee, stop." We all laugh.

Marcus was apparently nearby and did not like the encounter. "Ladies, please get Mr. Lucci to his room. We don't want any fans, following him." He sounds more stern than usual. I turn back to "Todd" and smile. "You have these two rooms, written here. Payment is already secured. Dial 9, for any room service requests and 0, for the front desk." I say. "I'll be sure to call," Todd whispers. The men take their key cards and head upstairs. Marcus disappears, once they're gone. "Oh no, he is outta pocket. We wasn't even talking to them for that long," Teyana whispers. "Exactly. I don't understand his issue." Now, I have an attitude and I'm ready for 5 o'clock, to hit.

5 o'clock hits and Teyana and I rush to clock out. Malika has no idea, what was going on with Marcus, so she's been confused all shift. "See y'all later," Malika says as she clocks out. "I'd say bye to Marcus but I'll leave him alone." She laughs. "Right," I say, like I don't know why he did that. I wait for Teyana to clock out and we head for the door. "Ladies!" We hear Marcus call after us. We reluctantly turn around. "Let me apologize, for this morning. There is a big deal, about celebrities, at my dad's hotel and I just didn't want that for us. I didn't mean to be rude. I apologize for that." "It's all good, Marcus. Just don't let it happen again," Teyana jokes. "I second that." I add. "Won't happen again," Marcus smiles. Everything that made me mad, went away. He's so fine, for no reason.

I finally head home, in hopes of relaxing, from my long day. Well, it felt long anyway. As soon as I get to my dorm, I get a whiff of food. Amara is in the kitchen, whipping up something good. She's Haitian, so all of her food is bomb. "Mmm...what you cooking?" I ask. "Fried plantains. You want some?" "Ooooh, yes please!" She's been putting me on, to all the good stuff. I know how to cook because I'm from the Caribbean, as well but it's different. It's nice, being able to share that kind of culture, with someone you live with. Lord knows my girls know nothing about it.

After catching up with each other and eating the plantain, I head to my room. I dramatically fall onto my bed, face first. I've had a bunch of mixed emotions, today, so that's draining. Even Todd called back down, to see if I was good and wanted to chill later. I told him, not tonight. Not sure if I should even go out with him, at all. I'm trying to get with Devin and I don't want to mess that up. Plus, Lucci can't ever do Reginae right and I'm pretty sure Todd does the same. They're staying there, all week, to get away or something like that even though Lucci lives here, in Atlanta. I'm sure I'll hear from Todd, when I go back, next time.

Devin texts me, asking to chill. I really just wanted to relax. I mean, I guess I understand that he's happy to be in the same city as me. I'd hate for him to think that I'm no longer interested. After this long ass day, I need you. I text him back. Ideally, if he was my man, sex could've cancelled all of my stress. Lmao. We haven't gotten to that stage yet. I refuse to have sex, outside of a relationship. It's not marriage but at least nobody can try calling me a hoe.

Devin knocks on our door, within in 10 minutes. I open the door and practically jump into his arms. This man is so damn fine and chocolate, it's unbelievable. "I see somebody had a rough day," he holds me, as he closes and locks the front door. "I did. Our new manager yelled at us, today," I pout. He lays me down, on the bed and cuddles up next to me. "Damn, what's up with him? I thought you said he was cool." "He was, until today. I mean he apologized, after our shift was over but I went the whole shift pissed," I laugh. "Aww," he laughs. "Well at least he apologized and as long as that shit don't keep happening. I might need to visit this hotel." "Please don't. He just might fire me." I laugh. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't, if what me and Teyana thinks is true...
