We get back to Atlanta and prepare to go our separate ways. We are BEAT, from the trip. We got drunk almost everyday. "I'll check on you, later." Devin says, before getting into Warren's car. I rush to my room and drop everything on the floor and I plop on my bed. "I've missed you." I say to my bed. Before I could even relax, there's a knock on the door. Amara's still away, until tonight, so I know it's not for her. Maybe Devin forgot something. I reluctantly get up and like a dumb ass, open the door, before checking to see who it is. It's Marcus.

"What are you doing here?" I yell. "I told you we weren't done. I just figured you needed to see me, again, to remind you." He says, brushing past me, into my dorm. This man has lost his entire mind. "Marcus, you need to leave. I'm tired and I just want to be alone." "No you don't. You just want Devin." He mocks Devin's name. "So what? You're married!" "But I still want you." "Well you can't have me, so leave." "You really doing this?" He looks completely shocked. "I love him, Marcus and obviously we can't be just friends." He doesn't say anything but I can see the fumes forming. "Okay." He says, stepping closer, to me. "We'll see about that." He leaves and slams my door. What the hell?!

I walk into Walmart, as always, and pick up a small basket. I've been telling myself all morning, not to pick up a bunch of shit I don't need. I just need milk, chips, and some fruits. Like clockwork, I see Jasmine, in front of the vegetables. I don't even bother trying to hide because I'm just not that lucky. She sees me and turns away, quickly. "Nothing smart to say, today?" I ask, boldly. I'm still pissed that Marcus bombarded me, last week. "Just leave me alone," she said, sadly. I get a glimpse of her face and notice a bruise. "Hey, you okay?" All of my attitude goes away. "Just leave me alone. You've done enough." Jasmine angrily whispers. "What did I do?" I ask, confused. I mean other than sleep with her man. "You left him!" She whisper yells. "I'm not stupid. I know you were messing with him." I look around, to make sure no one is hearing this.

She pulls me around, to the women's clothes section, where no one is. "You have to take him back," she says, shocking me. "What?! No. I'm trying to get my boyfriend back." "And I'm trying to get me a new man. I can't do that yet, if you leave him, now." She has lost her mind. "I'm sorry but it never should have happened and we're done. You need to go to the police, if he's hitting you." "Oh, little girl. You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into." She starts to walk away. I hear her mumble "police. pft." She's right, though. I have no idea what kind of man Marcus really is but I do know that I want no parts.

I head back home and prepare to go to Zora's. We're having a little study session, for our test, tomorrow. I pack the few things away and head back out the door. Marcus stops me, in my tracks. "Hey, Princess." He smiles. At this point, I'm scared. It's not dark yet, but no one is around, to witness what he might do. "Marcus, what are you doing here?" I ask, calmly. I definitely don't want to upset him. "I came to have movie night." He lifts up a clear bag, with popcorn and wine inside. "Marcus, I can't. I'm going to a study session, right now." "Charity, I'm getting real sick of the games." He grows angry. "I'm not playing games. I've already told you what was up. I want Devin." he drops the bag and grabs me. "Marcus!" I yell. He covers my mouth and brings me back into my dorm.

"You and that damn Jasmine, got some smart ass mouths. I tell you. I don't know who y'all think y'all are." He says. "Marcus, let me go!" I yell, trying to get away from him. "I'm never letting you go, baby. You're mine, remember?" He smiles as he throws me on the floor. "What the hell?!" I yell. "Help!" I yell louder. "Shut up!" He slaps me, shutting me up, instantly. I've never been so scared, in my life. I hold my face, in disbelief. "No, Princess. NO!" He starts pacing. "I never wanted to put my hands on you, like this. I love you. I'm so sorry. I'll go!" He rushes out of of the door, continually saying "I'm sorry." I don't know what to do. I'm too terrified to leave, now. I run and lock the door and rush back to my room. I lock that door too. I'm not leaving, tonight.

The next morning rolls around and I meet up with Zora, before class. "You okay, girl?" She asks. "Yea, I'm fine." I lie. I told them I wasn't feeling well and couldn't make it, last night. "Are you sure?" She looks at me, like she doesn't believe me. "Yes, Zora. I'm good." I lie, as we enter the classroom. I haven't even told her about Marcus. I just don't know if I should. He looked so hurt, after seeing what he did. I'm hoping he's done with me, now.

After our test, we meet up with Lilah and Jeremy, for lunch. We all grab our food and find a booth. Before I can stuff my face, Jeremy starts talking to me. "It's not looking too good, for you, Charity." We all look at him, confused. "What are you talking about?" I ask. "Yea." Lilah chimes in. That may be her man but she is NOT feeling his words, right now. "I'm only telling you because I don't want you to be shocked. Devin saw you talking to some man, yesterday." Shit, Marcus. "Oh my God." I slam my face into my hands. "Cher, is that why you didn't come last night? You still messing with him?" Zora asks. "NO! It wasn't like that!" "Then what was it like?" Zora's pissed now. I never lie to her. "So he didn't see what happened?" I turn my attention back to Jeremy. "Nah, he just saw y'all talking and he had wine and popcorn in his hand. He just left. Then, it didn't help that you didn't show up to the study session."

My breathing started to shake. I think I'm having a panic attack. "Charity." Zora says, worriedly. "Charity, breath." Tables around us start looking but I can't protest, right now. Soon, I can't even see who's around me. Everything goes black...
