"I'm sure you'll get it." Devin reassured me. He's back in his hometown, which is now 3 hours away, since I'm at my parents' house. I've been bugging him, about this, for the past two days. "I guess I should probably still apply elsewhere. There were people interviewing before and after me." "Well yea, never put all your eggs in one basket." He laughs. "This is Jamie Lewis we're talking about, here. Everybody knows him." He makes a valid point. Anyone would be lucky to work for him. I just can't believe I was lucky enough, to meet his nephew. And to top it off, he said he put in a word for me. "I've just been praying." I lay back, on my bed and start wondering about what it'd be like, to work there. "Hello?" I hear Devin, over the phone. "Sorry, I started daydreaming." I laugh. "Of course. Well I'll let you daydream, some more. I gotta get ready for work. Yay." He says, with no real enthusiasm.

After we get off the phone, I find myself drowned in YouTube videos. I literally have nothing to do, when my parents aren't home. Even though they gave me the $20,000, they're not pressed for me to move out or find a job. They'd let me stay here, without working, for at least a year. They've always told me that, during college. They know how I am, though. I have to be working. I always want to be doing, for myself, so I can make a name, for myself. I can't be a West and not have a name for myself.

My thoughts are interrupted, by another email notification. I have the notifications on, because I'm hoping to see an email, from Kai. I quickly leave YouTube and rush to my email. My heart stops, because it's my photography email, the one I emailed Kai from. "Ahhhhhh!!!!" I scream. Thankfully Cody is nowhere near me, at this point. "I got the job!!!" I jump up and down on my bed, like a child. I can't even believe this. I now work for Jamie Lewis, all because my fat ass wanted a snack. I have to call EVERYONE...after I actually finish reading the email. I'm not going to just automatically become a photographer from him. I have to go through some training, for six months, before I can go out in the field, under his name. It pays okay, though. $18/hour and we have two 3 hour training blocks, per day. But first, I need to get a background and drug test. They have the locations, for both tests, in the email, so I get ready immediately.

By the time I finish getting ready, it's around 1PM. I think it's only right that I group FaceTime my crew. Lilah answers first and Jaydah pops up, in her room. Slowly after, everyone else pops up. "You caught me on the last 5 minutes, of my lunch. What's up?" Devin asks. "Hold on, Zora's connecting. I quickly text Ella the news, since I know she's probably still sleep. Zora pops up and Warren's in the background. "I got the job!!" I yell. Everybody rushes, to congratulate me. "I told you." Devin says. "We all did! We got faith in you." Zora chimes in. "Making money moves!" Dayquan yells, making us all laugh. I can't believe this is happening to me.

I brush off my new black dress, as I get out of my car. I kind of went overboard this weekend, shopping for clothes to wear to work. The employee handbook said that, in the office, they wear business casual, except for Fridays. Fridays, we can wear jeans but still with a business casual top. Out on the field, you have dress for the occasion. If you're taking pictures, for a ball, you better be wearing a gown or suit. I smile big, while opening the front door. The same front desk clerk, from my interview, is here. "You're Charity right?" She asks. "Yes, I am." I smile. How'd she remember little ol me? "I'm Destiny. Congratulations." She says. "Thank you so much!" I reply. "Everyone is meeting in the conference room. If you walk down this hall and make a right, it's the first door on the left." "Thank you." I say, before following her directions.

I walk in and see Kai speaking with a light skinned guy, about 6'0. He's not my type, though. I can't work around too many fine men. I roll my eyes at myself. "Charity!" Kai addresses me. "Hi Kai. Nice to see you." "Likewise. This is Tory. He's one of our videographers." He points to the light skinned guy. "Hi Tory. Nice to meet you." I shake his hand. "The feeling is mutual." He gives me a smile that lets me know he likes what he sees. He better keep it professional, because I'm not going for it. Kai notices and makes a face. "Alright, so Jamie will be in, around 8:30AM. Once everyone's here, he's just going to go over house rules and introduce the newbies." Kai says. "How many newbies are there?" I let my curiosity out. "Five, for this location, eleven overall." I'm shook. Although we were brought on, we still have to make it through the training, according to our contract.

8:30 on the dot, Jamie Lewis walks in. The room grows silent and everyone takes a seat. He must not be one to play with. I think I read somewhere that he'll dead ass hurt your soul and expect you to fix what he asked you to fix, before you can go home. Yikes. "Good morning, everyone." He smiles. "Good morning." The crowd says, together. "Indeed it is. We have some new faces, as you can see, so today's meeting will be a bit different. Everybody will introduce themselves, starting from my executive team and down to the newbies. State your name, position/potential position and one interesting fact about yourself. Then we'll discuss this week's plan. Sound good?" A wave of agreement rolls over the room.

Mr. Lewis starts it off, his exec team goes next, the secondary team goes and now it's time for us newbies. "Who'd like to go first?" Mr. Lewis asks. It's silent, for about three seconds but my hand shot up. Damn it Charity. I just didn't want to seem weak by not trying to go. He smiles. "Hi everyone. My name is Charity West. Once I make it through training, I'll be a photographer." I smile. "One interesting fact about me is...um...I'm going to make it a personal goal, to make a name for myself. My dad has his own property management company and my mom has her own interior design company. It's time this West pops out." I smile, making a few people smile. "May I ask who your parents are?" Mr. Lewis asks. "Uh, sure. My dad is Kyle West and my mom is Cheyenne West." I answer. "Huh. I thought you looked familiar." Mr. Lewis says. "Your dad owns one of my condos. Nice guy. I hope you have the same level of customer service as he." "I learned from the best." I reply. I definitely think I'm going to like it here.
