11:15pm, July 4th, 1985.

he lays me on the cold hard ground.

he leans over me like he used to.

"Don't be afraid." he whispers in his seductive voice. "it'll be over soon."

"Just try and stay... very still."

"no, billy no!" I start sobbing.

he gets up and i turn my head and see a blurry creature.

"No! n-no, no, no! BILLY STOP!!" i back up when i see fire works hit the mind flayer.

Billy yells in pain, since he's "attached" to the shadow monster.

i try escaping, when Billy grabs my leg and pulls me over and straddles me, and chokes me while he bangs my head against the ground.

he stops, leaving his hands by the sides of my head.

he stops.

he sees me.

"Billy?"

i think of everything he has told me. or even what i saw.

anything, to bring him back.

i get visions of us, california-

the beach.

"Seven...feet." i let out.

he looks confused, but still possessed.

"Y/N?" i hear him whisper.

"You told her... the wave was seven feet, Billy."

my heart aches.

he starts breathing heavily.

its him.

"Remember? When you wouldn't stop talking about her?" i lightly chuckle through my tears.

"You ran to her, on the beach.

There were seagulls. So many of them. You loved to run through them and see how many could fly away from you."

he starts slowly crying, quietly.

"She wore a hat... with a blue ribbon. You always told me you wish you could've kept it. She had a long dress... with a blue and red flower. Yell- yellow sandals," its getting way to hard for me to talk now.

"covered- in sand."

"She was pretty.

She was really pretty."

he closes his eyes.

he looks back at me and nods at me.

i feel his tear on my cheek.

"And Billy,

you were happy."

i reach my hand up and hold his face and he closes his eyes again.

"Billy.

its me.

its your best friend.

its Y/N. you dont have to do this."

"We have one day. One.

And then we can go.

Forever.
