"Does everyone have what they need?" Viv looked brighter, more determined asking this. I'm not sure what happened in the short time that we went scavenging, but she had a clearer head. Liam wouldn't answer any of Winnie's questions, trying to find out how he managed to bring Viv back to reality. He simply shrugged and offered a small smile.

I had a clearer head as well. I knew that my anger and rage couldn't save Lauren if it wasn't under my control. I needed to find the bastard that took her, and take him down, but with brains not just brawn.

"Let's kick some ass." Scarlet nodded, pulling out her shotgun and taking off the safety. We gathered around in preparation. Who knew how many Grayies would be inside? Who knew where Lauren is and what this guy was doing to her? No, all we knew is that we have to end this insanity right now. Might as well fix something in this fucked up world.

"We need a pass code to get through the security entrance," Winnine pointed out, nudging Viv.

"Why not just go through the front door?" Niall asked curiously, holding on to the metallic baseball bat he had found in one of the homes. We all turned to him with a disapproving look. I know the guy was new but this was just common sense.

"Viv?" Winnie asked, ignoring Niall's suggestion completey.

"9371, hold the handle down before you punch in the numbers." Since Viv had often visited her father in this facility, she knew the building like the back of her hand. It helped that her father had high clearance and shared this info with her before the outbreak.

Winnie nodded and led Carrie, Niall, Zayn and Harry towards the entrance.

"Why aren't we going with them?" I asked impatiently. Lauren was in there somewhere, I need to get to her as soon as possible.

"Well," Scarlet smirked at a small security camera above the front entrance, "We have to greet our hosts."

The small camera blinked red, which meant it was on and currently monitoring as we speak. I didn't hold back the need to flip it off, and turned to Viv for guidance.

"Josh, I have no idea what's in there, or who's in there. But if they get in your way to Lauren, kill them." She handed me one of her knives, and although I didn't need it, I knew it was a sign of peace between us. I gave her a strong nod, and walked up to the bloody glass. Scarlet, came behind me, shotgun at the ready. I held my bat, reeling back and letting it swing.

The shatter of glass felt dangerous, as if the disease was getting out all over again. The air felt contaminated, although I know that wasn't true. The echo of such a loud noise should have attracted the Grayies to the front entrance, but none were in sight. Either they were trapped somewhere, or there wasn't any left in the facility.

I do know however, that the crash might have been loud enough to grab the attention of the group of Grayies in the woods behind the school, not too far off from here.

We had to move fast.

"Winnie, Niall, Zayn, Harry, and Carrie are going to take out as many Grayies as they can, create a diversion. The rest of us are going for Lauren. Josh and Louis, you're sole focus is Lauren, make sure she's safe and get her out. Liam, Scarlet and I are going to deal with..." Viv paused, choking on her words. Liam gave her hand a soft squeeze and she continued. "Anyways, we all have our priorites. No distractions."

And with that, we entered the building.

Lauren

The room was spinning and frankly, if it didn't stop soon I would hurl on myself.

Was this what being a Grayie was?
