Niall
Viv was explaining why Lauren wasn't showing up on the video cameras, when Winnie slipped into the room. I know she was trying to be subtle, but my head immediately snapped to her as she stood behind Zayn and Harry.
She looked drained, and much paler. No one else noticed her entrance, but she caught me looking over at her, and smiled weakly. Something definitely wasn't right.
"Hey, did you have any trouble with a Grayie? I think you have some of it's blood on your jeans." Harry pointed out casually, causing Viv to stop speaking and look over at Winnie in concern. Winnie's sky blue eyes widened, her few strays of blonde hair falling out of her pony tail and covering her face, her mouth dropping open into a little 'O'.
"Mm? Uh, yeah." She muttered, shrugging her shoulders.
"You don't look so good Win." Viv paused, nodding for Zayn and Harry to step out of the way. Winnie's head bent down in shame as a collective gasp filled the room. My throat was too constricted to make a noise. Her jeans were soaked with blood, the stain flowing outward without stopping. This wasn't a Grayies blood, it was her own.
"Oh my god." Was all Viv could manage, in such a small voice. Her eyes were wide disbelief, and all the color drained from her face. I knew what she felt, I'm sure I was paler than both of them.
"Please don't tell me.." I whispered softly, afraid that if I said the words, it would make this real. Winnie didn't need to answer, her violent cough that sounded like it was ripping through her lungs was answer enough. I felt like all the pain she was enduring was affecting me too, the was a horrible ache around my ribcage that made it hard for me to breathe, and my throat closed up as I felt my own eyes start to water.
No.
"Lets lay her down." Viv was so quiet, her voice was strained, and I could see tears well up in her eyes and she swallowed the lump in throat.
"Viv-"
"No." Viv growled, cutting Winnie off. She had lost control of her calm and collected self, and now looked as if she was seething with rage. Winnie looked at her best friend with sad eyes, defeat fashioned on her features. Quietly, without trying to make Viv any angrier, she fished out a small object from her shirt pocket.
Winnie gripped the tiny object like her life depended on it, her fingertips flamed with red and knuckles a snowy white. No one spoke, I could see the confused faces of the boys, I could even sense by own curiousity, though I felt something horrible was going to happen. Everyone that has been part of the original group had somber faces, even Josh looked sorrowfully down at his two leaders.
Without saying a word, Viv grabbed a nearby computer chair, picking it up with little difficulty, and threw it against the wall in a fit of rage. The chair legs broke with a deafening crash, and Viv breathed heavily, not making any eye contact with anyone as she stormed out fo the room.
"What's going on?" Louis asked innocently, still not understanding what was happening.
Winnie made no attempt at speaking, simply looking towards the door in which Viv left from only moments ago.
"We have many rules, and one of them is, when someone becomes bit..." Carrie started, fumbling with her fingers as her voice died down, not able to speak.
"Rule 6, always keep one single bullet on you, for emergencies when faced with a worst case scenario. It's...it's for yourself." Winnie finished, uncurling her fingers to reveal a small rounded gold bullet, something to be shot out of revolver. My breath leaves my body and my knees felt like jelly.
