"I fell in love with a boy, bright as the moon, who left me with a story to tell."

It had been several weeks. He disappeared from my life.
Everything had turned bleak and bitter, the tranquil moonlight which made me smile now made me curl up into my bed and sob, the voices downstairs made me shiver. Everything felt fake.
How can he not exist?
And suddenly everything was making sense, how he came whenever I needed him, how he held me so tightly afraid I might go away, or now that I think, afraid he might disappear, how he was waning but smiled luminescently.
Our stupid diary, the ghost town, everything was coming together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, but shattering my heart.
And I still will love him, but his face was slowly ebbing away from my memories.
I had lost my smiles,
I screamed at night when I couldnt imagine him anymore when I could'nt reminiscence how his eyes sparkledHe was the palette of colors, painting my life with such vibrance, with the shades of night, of happiness, but he himself never got to live.
It was heartbreaking, how every smile was fake, how every flattering sentence was a fragment of my imagination.
How our fairy-tale, like others...

"Em, please tell me if something is bothering you, you havent talked for days..." Haechan's voice was wet with tears he was trying to hold back.
"Em...please" he grasped my hand so tightly I almost flinched but this pain was nothing now.
In moments he wrapped a blanket around me, pulling me close to his shivering body.
"I'm sorry I cant help, but tell me what happened..." he would say this once in a while and no matter how much I wanted to say it's okay, it's not your fault, I couldnt say those words.
"Haechan..." after so many days I finally found words.
"YEAH?" he yelped up from his seat. It was a pleasant morning, almost near the end of winter when the morning breeze was filled with the chirp of birds and the smell of the fresh dew. It was one of those mornings filled with good wishes and happy, lively minds.
"You remember our diary?" I whispered.
"Yeah of course." He held my shoulder.
"Let's read it.." I smiled. A broken, fragile smile.
His eyes flickered and after some time he brought the book, his hair dishevelled, his eyes teary, and brow filled with sweat.
"Thanks a lot" I smiled, tears brimming my eyes.
"Ah don't..." he waved his hand, "you can also read my stupid confession" he ran his fingers through his reddish hair.
I chuckled a little, my heart beating faster, as this diary was the only memory I had of him. The only way I could feel his warmth, his liveliness again.
I read through those pages, when so many years ago, I saw him, I played with him, smiled and laughed with him.
My tears overflowed and Haechan wiped them away, holding me the whole time."I cant end our story..." I found my words again.
"Huh?" He asked.
"Haechan...I can't let this story end...i cant...give me a pen..." I said.
"Y..yeah" he stuttered and then ran to hand me one.
I flipped the pages, and on the blank one, there was already a sentence written,
"Our story was beautiful Em, dont forget it. "
I let out a cry, burying my face in Haechan's chest, how I was forgetting about him. I didnt want to. I needed him so much and I just cannot leave my Moon. I fell in love with a boy, bright as the moon, who left me with a story to tell.
"Em...em are you okay?" He asked, his fingers digging into my skin.
"N...no..." I choked on my tears and screamed but nothing could heal the emptiness of my heart.
"Em..I'm here, I'm right here..."
"Please, I'm sorry...I'm sorry." My sobs grew louder, breaking every inch of me.

It was almost spring. The forest was a lush green, there were spots of white, yellow and pink wherever my eyes went, tiny little flowers were in full bloom, they danced with the sweet breeze, squirrels ran past the path quickly and the sunlight seeped in through the leaves.
"Here?" He asked.
"Here" I smiled.
I held the book tightly in my hand, my fingers pressing onto the thick cover, filled with scribbles and doodles and in one of the pages it's written,
"Eclipse"
My lips curved into a smile, and my heart seemed to flutter. It felt heavy, bittersweet about how I was letting fo off him, but he was with me forever.
Jaemin was so lively, he burnt, glowed so beautifully, he left his traces in this life and the stars, the moon, the dirt road, the abandoned church, every corner of my heart, knew that he was still there.
I'll always be his Ember, his light.
I thought as I placed the book near our dirt road.
Warm tears caressed my face, instead of my smile, and my hand shivered a little, but I kept it.
I let go off him.
And as we were going away, when we turned back I felt those beautiful eyes looking at me, as if his lips just spoke my name, as if he would call me.
I let out a sigh, thinking about our first words, the scenery, the feeling still fresh in my mind, releasing all my pent up emotions I screamed, "You like the Moon?"
"yes" I heard a whisper of a voice echoe through the forest, speaking only to me and I couldnt hold onto the tears anymore.
"I wont ever forget you my Moon...." I whispered.
"You really are one of a kind Em..." Haechan smiled at me, as bright as the sun he is.
"So are you, you weirdo" I clicked his forehead and we bursted into laughter.
A/n: and that's it, that's the end everyone. Its bittersweet, how she moved on but still somehow held onto him. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who was with me through this amazing journey. I LOVE YOU ALL.PS: a theory and acknowledgement chapter dedicated to my readers is coming soon. I couldnt have done it without you guys :)
