❛❛we wrote a fairy tale, its name, Eclipse❜❜
A story of a paralyzed girl, and an ephemeral boy, who were only able to meet at night and starting from silly conversations they became the light in each other's darkness.
But no one knew where he came f...
I asked the stars,"how does it feel, so high up there?" "its dark and lonely here" they said.
I had lost count of days, locking myself up in my room, the darkness seeping inside me. I could not grasp, how everything just vanished, how love can make you and break you apart.
I was on my bed, feeling my body plastered, my fingers grasping the sheets, my eyes locked towards the ceiling searching for our stars, which were now lost, enveloped with darkness.
My heart had crushed into pieces of glass, which could not be reversed.
In the grim, curtain-drawn room, where I saw glimpses of my Moon, smiling, holding my hand, shimmering under the pearl-blue moonlight, a call interrupted me.
I waited, the sound screeching through, till after the beep a child-like voice said, "Em! Did you see the news? You won't believe it! There's going to be an eclipse, let's watch it together...I'm coming to your house, wait for me okay?"
The words ebbed away like the tide, his bubbly voice were like daggers, but one words struck me, 'eclipse'
"What should be the name of our story?"
"Eclipse"
I slowly got up from the bed, my chest heaving, the pain still clutching onto me.
We were beautiful. Our story was beautiful. 'Eclipse' was beautiful.
He left me, but he left me with memories, which I can cherish for my whole life.
I had to see the eclipse and sadly, I had hope, a flickering hope that my moon would meet me, under the eclipse.
I walked towards the fire escape feeling so very helpless, my body trembling, but I had to do it. I was soon stepping on the dried leaves, the sound of the crunching leaves filling my ears.
I looked around, winter had kissed the forest, it looked, empty, dead but somewhere I was burning with the red and orange.
I thought we would be for four seasons, I thought I would recover soon and we will run through the summer, the rain...
But every story has a end, and ours ended too.
With slow footsteps I walked, as much as I had remembered. I traced the memories, tears filling my eyes, the winter wind dancing on my skin, sending shivers down my back. Even in the streaming sunlight, which painted the forest with such beauty.
I saw only black. I saw pitch black in front of me. I was lost.
"I wish you were here..." My arms around my chest, I found myself whisper into the wind.
I sighed, sat down, all the emotions creating a whirlpool inside me. My teeth chattered and tears caressed my cold cheek. It was quiet. I missed our laughs, our stupid jokes. Everything.
I missed him.
It had been days but I could not figure out how to live without him.
Nothing made sense anymore, except for this Eclipse.
I looked at the Sun, burning so brightly, with its bright, blinding light, waiting for its Moon.
The Ember which was waiting for its Moon.
I let out a deep breath, my fingers numb from the bitter wind, the tree leaves were rustling and I felt dizzy.
I was sitting on our dirt road, and a smile framed on my lips, as I played with one of the dead leaves, peeking to see if I can notice the puddle.
My smile grew wider and I suddenly started feeling even colder. The wind started growing its speed and the brightly lit blue sky was turning into a darker shade, a grayish hue.
I squinted and wrapped my arms around myself, the cold air enveloping me, making me shiver and tremble. I curled my feet even though I could not feel anything and looked at the grey sky, through the dead, lifeless trees.
My mouth gaped, as I watched the sky growing even darker, spots of beautiful white appeared on the sky. It seemed night had casted and the stars appeared, embedded onto the dark black night sky.
Suddenly I felt a warm touch and my eyes darted towards two familiar orbs.
That smile.
"You are watching the Eclipse without me?" His hands grasped mine tighter his smile became wider, and under the star-studded sky and the waning sunlight I stared at him.
"M...Moon?"
