No place I'd rather be

Drive-in cinemas were something magical, somewhere nice and cosy, someplace fun and cool.
And camps? Camps were safe places for many children, whether you were a demigod or not.
Camp Half-Blood? Inhabited by over a hundred half-bloods, the activities directors were running out of ideas on how to keep everyone occupied in the evenings... Or how to motivate kids and not have to award them with smores every night. And so the brightest minds figured out something perfect- movie evenings outside and sleeping under the night sky.

Percy was standing behind the makeshift stand, handing out popcorn filled bowls and nacho plates, and glasses of sodas if someone really wished for them. He had Piper with him just a minute ago but she's vanished as a cloud of steam when someone told her that someone else supposedly had a secret stash of candy they were selling from the window of cabin 11. Percy had his guess on who it was...
"Can I have some cheese popcorn and cola?"
Percy looked down at Charlie and smirked. "Only if you don't set the place on fire with your brother like yesterday," Percy held the goods just enough high so the kid couldn't reach it.
"Fine-" Charlie swore, apparently still amused by how he and Leo tried to pop the corn that, well, didn't pop at first...
"Kay, fine by me," Percy muttered, looking around. "Go have fun, it starts in like 10. Anyone else?!" He called.
Kids called back and he about gave up the role of a reasonable adult as a new queue formed.
Annabeth was balancing on a very unstable ladder, trying to hook the rope that held the screen up to the roof of a cabin. He had to laugh to himself.
Percy handed out another portion of movie treats, Annabeth glancing his stolen looks and waving at him, almost causing herself to fall over.
They both chuckled, too far from each other to hear the other's laughter over the common chatter as an invisible force pushed Annabeth steady again.
Jason saluted her way and crashed on the grass where a huge blanket was reserved for him and his gang.
Annabeth finally managed her mission an jumped down with the grace of a cat.
Percy didn't have to wave her over, she came herself, and so he decided to close up his business already.
"Take what you want everyone, I'm out." He said, grabbing some popcorn himself.
"Hey-" Annabeth said.
"Graceful as a falling snowflake, aren't you." Percy joked.
"As always." Annabeth grabbed for the bowl but Percy pulled it further.
"Nah-ah..." He put it behind his back and lifted her chin with his index finger, pulling her into a kiss with that slight guidance.
They both still longed for each other's touch when apart, even after years... They were lost in each other.
"Love you," she said as she stole the popcorn from him after pulling from the spell of his lips on hers. "Come on my kitchen lady." She laughed.
"Hahaha, it was actually Piper's shift today."
"I know, you're too nice for this world."
"Am I?" He tossed a popcorn at her and laughed maliciously. "Face my wreath now." He grinned.
"Oh I'll glad-"
As soon as she put the popcorn on the blanket next to Jason, not a wise move, Percy grabbed her from behind and squeezed her against his body in what somehow resembled a heimlich maneuver. She yelped and kicked the air once before he set her back down. Laughing, she shook her head. "I wonder, my dear lover-"
"What," Percy handed her a blanket from the pile and pulled a walkie-talkie from his belt, maxing the volume.
"Nothing." Annabeth smiled, seeing her reflection in his eyes.
She had though before if there'd ever come a day when they wouldn't show just how much they needed each other.
"Give me the walkie, you'll space out before the movie even starts," Annabeth smirked.
Piper's arrived finally, pockets full, and a triumphant smile on her lips, the rest trailing behind her carefully to not step on someone.
"What's on tonight guys?" Piper chymed in.
"It's Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse today?" Hazel said, still highly excited for every movie they watched.
"Yep." Nico said, plopping down and opening a Happy Meal.
"Dude, what even?" Rachel laughed.
"What, third eye, my cholesterol spyking up again?"
She shook her head. "I foretell that you'll all cry tomorrow night at the movies." She smirked.
"Eh?" Leo frowned.
"She picked Five feet apart..." Annabeth stated.
"No ducking way am I watching that-" Thalia started but silenced herself as the speakers blared and the picture started.
"Lego movie will be played in the arena for sensitive kids if you wish." Percy whispered.
"Shut up cousin." She snapped jokingly.
"You all shut up." Clarisse called from behind before the real movie started and all went silent.
Times were good.
