I honestly don't care if the parents care well for their child and love it. Lets face it, sometimes even teens can be better parents than some adults and I know that... My parents were 18 and 21 when they had my older brother and they are the best parents in the whole universe!
*This chapter DOES NOT belong to my storyline guys! Enjoy reading :)
Annabeth's POV
(Consider that they live with Sally and Paul but aren't married or anything... Lets say that the rest lives in camp :))
Ever since we came back from Tartarus I couldn't be separated from Percy just like he couldn't be away from me. We often screamed from our sleep in the beginning and we only coped with the night terrors and flashbacks by always staying close. I didn't mind.
Sally got used to finding us tangled in each other in either mine or Percy's room. After all the sleepless nights, she gave in. Sally was the greatest and nicest person and I hated that I'd disappoint her like this. I hated that my mother would finally get her way. Me and Percy really screwed up this time.
I looked at myself in the mirror. I was a little pale, feeling funny the whole week and now I knew. You don't just throw up right after you get out of the bed if you hadn't been on some stupid party the last night. And there were other, clearer, symptoms.
I had to know for sure though. I'll just run to a store and get some-
Percy tried to open the door for the second time this morning. We were supposed to go to camp and train. "Annabeth you've been locked in there for eternity. I need to brush my teeth."
"Just a minute!" I called, checking myself up once more, but my voice sounded strange, damn it!
"Annabeth are you okay? Open the door!" Percy knocked frantically and I unlocked it.
"Gods, I'm fine Percy, see?" I tried to get past him but he caught me by my waist and pulled me back.
"You don't look fine at all Beth." He looked me up and down.
"I said I'm fine, I just need some fresh air and-"
"Spill it, you look terrible."
"Not the greatest idea. . . and thanks- you really want to know?" I said way too loud. He was confused and I was upset, not the greatest combination.
I ran a hand through my hair and sighed.
"What's-" Percy started but I burried my head in his chest and hugged him.
"Hey whatever it is it's fine you know, you're not getting rid of me and we can stay home if you're sick."
Sick would be less painful.
"I think I'm- I-" I muttered to his shirt.
Percy pulled away, Sally just walked by us and we both greeted her like if everything was fine.
"My room, now," he whispered and dragged me there.
As soon as he locked the door I simply said it, there was no way I could keep that from him. "I think I may be pregnant," I said. Well that was as smooth as a sandpaper.
Percy stared at me, his mouth wide open, and for the first time that day I smiled, he was my Seaweed brain. I thought he might need some time to let the news sink in so I sat down on his bed.
"As in, that there's a baby?" He pointed to my abdomen. "Like a baby us like- oh gods," he plopped down next to me.
"I need to buy the test first and get an appointment, but probably," I said, but Percy was already out of it.
"A test? There's a test! I can't take the test, I'd fail. I'll be a dad? Oh mom will kill me for getting you pregnant, I just wonder which one will do it first. . . Mine or yours? I really screwed up right? Everything's gonna be fine. We'll handle it-"
"Are you done?" I almost laughed. "I should be freaking out and of course that only I take the test Seaweed brain!"
"No I won't let you alone in it, let's go get it." He said, determined to suffer through anything I'd have to go through. I burst out laughing.
"Thank you," I said after a while of cracking up.
"For knocking you up?" Percy asked, bewildered. "For nothing really, my pleasure."
I glared at him. Percy must have thought I lost it already.
"No you dumbass, for being you. Aaand- well if I- if we're pregnant then. . . we'll manage." I kissed him, suddenly not as scared as I was mere 15 minutes ago.
"So," he said. "Will the kid like, I don't know, pop out of your head or-"
"This- is- not- something- to- joke- about!" I laughed out between beating him with his panda pillow.
"I know but you seemed sad." Percy smiled kindly.
"So you're okay now? Cause I'm actually freaking out-"
"We went through worse than being a family didn't we? We graduated, that was tough. And I'm sure they'll still let us live in Camp Half-Blood City and go to the college, you designed it after all."
"Say it again."
"What?"
"Family," I smiled up at him. "Cause you are that."
"Family." He grinned and spun me around.
"Please don't do that again," I smirked weakly. "Or you'll have to clean up the floor."
Percy put me down like if I was made of glass and something told me he'd be unsufferable in the next few months.
When I opened the door Sally was leaning against the wall with a small bag in her hand. I looked at her, breathing fast, and started crying.
"No! I'm so sorry Sally," I looked down. Percy came to my side but I think Sally glared at him cause he stepped away. And then, then Sally pulled me closer and hugged me.
"There's 4 in the bag, I overheard you and sent Paul."
"I'll take one too," said Percy and Sally rolled her eyes.
"Then you take at least 2 to be sure and don't worry," Sally sighed. "I had Percy when I was 19 and your baby will be born few months after you turn 18," said Sally. She smiled at me and wiped my cheeks.
"Thanks," I whispered and took the bag from her. We both headed to the bathroom but I turned back once more. "For everything."
"So?" I asked. I closed my eyes and squeezed Percy's hand.
"What so? You look, I can't!" Percy answered. I punched him and he sighed. "Still can't."
"At a count?"
"From three to one," Percy made sure.
"Percy?"
"Yes?"
"I'm scared."
"Me too, what if we're both pregnant."
"Stop making fun," I chuckled. Only he could make this okay. I took a deep breath. "If you see a plus sign or two lines or the f-ing grinning emoticon, it's positive, just so we're clear-"
"I don't mind if it's positive," Percy said.
I thought. If this all was some curse from Hera or a screwed up blessing from Aphrodite then they definitely didn't upset him enough this time.
"Me neither. . . I think- three"
"Two-" Percy said.
"One-" I opened my eyes.
Only Percy's joke test showed nothing.
"I like the name Sophie," Percy stated immediately. I stared at him, my eyebrows raised. "Or Logan. . . Laela"
"You're unbelievable."
"I love you too, both."
"You know the child is barely the size of a rice grain," I stated.
"No?"
"And it basically has a tail. . ." I continued. I remembered everything from school.
We told Sally and Paul, they were way too nice and that made me feel even more guilty. Well I think they didn't really expect us to not get more- personal- but they totally didn't expect a grandchild so soon.
Percy offered me a pickle for breakfast, I accepted, then threw it at him and made us some peanut butter toasts.
We ended up watching crazy pregnancy videos on YouTube in my room until Paul came to get us for lunch. I figured I did have the right to freak out.
That's it guys 💙 hope you liked it :)
