Third person's POV
Percy and Annabeth were sitting across to Miles and Vicky, and the kids who were too busy throwing their pasta at each other. The couple was in awe, admiring the heroes that were so young in their eyes.
"So you're saying that you two defeated Kronos, basically all by yourself, and brought peace to Greek and Roman demigods, fighting Gaea all along."
He pointed at Annabeth. "And you... You followed the mark of Athena which no one got back alive from, as I recall, and then you both fell to Tartarus? And survived, getting help from a titan and a giant? On top of that you, and 7 other demigods, all under 18 and some with no training, basically, defeated Gaea?"
You could see the spark of jealousy in his eyes. Not in the wrong way towards them though. But he was a warrior through and through.
Percy and Annabeth were a little uncomfortable in a certain way.
Sure, they were admired before but none of them actually enjoyed admiration for that specific thing very much. It wasn't something they'd love talking about.
Percy's POV
I took Annabeth's hand under the table and she looked at me, smiling reassuringly. I didn't know if I really liked being admired for how many monsters I killed...
"If you say it like that then it really sounds odd, but yeah. The fates got wild with our lives."
No I didn't like it, that just reminded me of all that happened along.
I chuckled a little and Annabeth shifted on her chair. She opened her mouth to say something but Vicky was faster.
"Thank you for everything," she blurted out.
"You have no reason to, I mean, we just saved everyone's butts a couple times."
Annabeth laughed when she realized what she just said. "That sounded stupid, just don't thank us. It's not like we had a choice."
"You're impossible," I laughed.
Miles frowned, "I'm sorry my darling for being this blunt but the gods are idiots."
I mean sure, you thought of the gods and of the kid you had yourself and loved so bad and then you remembered you never had that from them almighty godly folks.
"I like being a demigod though." I admitted. Realizing the balance between the bad and good that happened to me, I knew that I was a lucky person. "My life was never a walk in the park and neither was Annabeth's but..."
All I really cared about by now was my family and friends, keeping them alive and safe.
"Because you met Annabeth and you wouldn't have known her if you weren't a demi like you are," Vicky smirked, staring into Miles's eyes, not at me- Aphrodite's kids...
Annabeth mouthed "me too" to me, causing me to snicker.
"Okay now, well... Let's just leave all that behind and get some ice scream?"
I laughed, it was something Katie told us about, though poor Danny looked a little scared. Okay, a lot.
"They meant ice cream Danny," Vicky chuckled. "Right?"
"Of course... I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream..."
I nodded at Annabeth's rhyming and Vicky lifted the baby from her high chair. What a trap...
Anyway, we all went for a short walk on the beach to get said dessert. Miles and Vicky agreed they'd be happy to move to HBC once there'd be a house for them.
Then Annabeth started talking about all the things, as of she were a realtor to top the role of a leading architect too.
"I promised our friends a house in a few months total so we can work on yours too. Percy, remember to ask Reyna if the romans could help us with the city, with them, you could move in within a month- and you could stay in camp if you wanted to come back right away."
"You couldn't stay at Piper's for sure. There's already like..."
I started counting them on my fingers: "Hazel, Frank, Jason, Piper, Connor, Leo and Calypso?"
Annabeth stared at me with her eyebrows raised, chuckling.
"Seven, Seaweed brain."
"Seven demigods, whoa, do they have that many rooms?"
Annabeth finally laughed. "They do Seaweed brain and one spare, but we already have our rooms at your parent's house."
Miles laughed. "You have separated rooms?" Vicky nudged him. He stopped laughing after few seconds but it only made him turn red as he tried not to.
"No, we haven't really been apart in eons. It's about this little trauma of ours-" Annabeth shrugged and cleared out the fact that we were still only eighteen though and didn't have everything planned out before.
"He proposed a few days after we ordered everything. My room is now our daughter's, yet another thing that was a surprise."
It was slowly turning late so we thanked for the lunch and left for our apartment.
