Okay this story is meant as a joke XD I got nothing else for Annabeth's birthday rn - so this shall be it.
She's the girl that saved me from drowning and I mean that, if it weren't for Annabeth, idk where I'd be rn.
Story set after Hoo series, they're finishing high school, summer's close, living in a house with Percy's parents and baby Estelle*
...
"Don't touch me! No-" the doors to the Jackson-Blofis house flew open as the young couple returned from school.
"Come on, Annabeth. Stop acting like this!"
"No- I swear to Hades, one step closer and I'm leaving to the camp."
"Can you at least explain?" Percy called after the blonde who was already storming up the stairs. That's when Sally and Paul came out of the kitchen, having just finished their afternoon quiet time as Annabeth woke Estelle up. Annabeth just yelled down over the child's cries.
"I'll get her!"
Percy stood still.
"What have you done?" Sally questioned.
"Nothing?!"
"What have you not done?" Paul looked at him as if World War III was about to go down because he forgot an anniversary of sort.
Percy gave an exasperated sigh and dropped his bag, closing the door a little too loud and earning another shout from his girlfriend.
"I'm trying to put her back to sleep!"
"I don't know! I picked her up on time and we drove back home in peace, stopped by at Starbucks... She got to get her favorite iced coffee... Were talking normally but she's kinda quiet all along so I kiss her in the car, trying to lift her spirits up, and suddenly she's screaming at me like I just wrecked her blueprints."
"Oh Honey-" Sally started, "Just ask her then... I'm sure Annabeth will tell you what's going on. If you truly didn't-"
"No, mom! Gods... That's some support system for me."
"Well you did destroy her blueprints last week and she almost filed pre-engagement divorce papers so-"
Percy just stared at his parents. He was so glad that they loved Annabeth as if she were their own daughter, especially since her family was shit, and he was so amused by how they backed her up in every unreasonable fight they had: like why he couldn't drop out of college and open up a seashell stand in Central Park... But this was treachery of a whole new level.
"Thanks guys, Paul-" he frowned, "I thought we guys had each other's backs."
He did put a lot of obvious drama and a bit of ridiculous sass into that and walked up as if he were going to the hanging tree, oblivious to what his smartass girlfriend got upset about this time.
"Annabeth?"
The door to her room cracked open and she glared at him. "What?! And be quiet, I just calmed Estelle down. She's back in her cot."
"What- You ask me? What the hell? You're acting like I just kicked your puppy. I am very sure I didn't miss any anniversary or anything... What the hell is up with YOU?"
The girl glared at him even more and he took a few steps closer.
"Okay, I'm sorry for whatever I did. Can you please tell me now?"
"We watched a childbirth video in bio class and now all I can see when you touch me is that horrid image, the screams echo through my mind. And I am in a rather dangerous part of the torture cycle."
There was a short moment of silence before Percy burst out laughing. "This is a joke-"
Annabeth didn't laugh though and he slowly stopped too, very slowly for that matter.
"Oh it's not?"
"No-" she folded her arms in front of her chest, ready to validate her point.
"So I kiss you and you almost bite my head off... Dam, am I lucky that you didn't see it yesterday..."
"Shut up Percy, you know the chance of birth control failing is pretty high?"
"But so was the chance of my mother giving birth to a horse instead of me but we don't panic about that either."
"Oh yeah, confirm my doubts and stir the fire with images of having to push out a literal possibly winged horse, that should work out," Annabeth snorted in an attempt not to laugh. "Fuck your genetics..."
"So what?" Percy walked into her room and closed the door unceremoniously, he slept there about as often as she slept in his room. They rarely stayed alone... "I'm pretty sure it's too late for us to wait till marriage." He whispered in an amused tone.
"You're watching it with me."
"I'm- no?! I don't wanna-"
"Sit down."
Trying was hopeless.
The yelling and screaming from the video got covered by Percy's exclamations of pure terror and fear. They used protection, even some godly made kind for that matter, but this-
"I need to thank my mother. Get her diamonds. A yacht... I'm- I-"
"Right?" Annabeth was next to him, staring at her laptop screen, just as freaked out. "I mean- look at the baby- look how happy the mother is- look-"
"I was like 8 pounds and 13 ounces when I was born."
"That couldn't have been fun." Annabeth said matter of factly.
"What's the failure rate again?"
"Like 4-7 in 100 get pregnant every year anyway."
"That's a lot with our shit luck."
"Yes-"
"Maybe you could ask your mother her secret. I'm pretty sure popping kids out of your brains is much easier. Less bloody and screamy."
He earned another stare down.
"You do realize that if I get pregnant anytime soon, by any chance, the least of your troubles would be my mother? Especially after this."
He took a double take on that before looking at her apologetically and rather keeping quiet. It wasn't him who'd directly have to go through that after all.
"Estelle's cute... And she was pretty tiny."
"Maybe we can adopt kids from the camp one day... Like teenagers."
Annabeth looked at him like he just figured something brilliant for once. "Fair enough."
It took Sally and Paul a couple days to muster up the courage to ask about them sleeping down in the living room, on the floor in Estelle's nursery or with Estelle in her nest in between them... Needless to say it was worth all their money once they got that explanation.
