After this chapter, I intend to make a more consistent series of;
1. College life
2. Work life + Half Blood city
3. The pregnancy and some of that fun
4. A little about mental health (awareness) vs our heroes here because yeah they got their own issues too
5. More chapters solely with Grover and Tyson with our Jacksons here!
Five years have passed since the end of the last war, even the youngest of the children formerly tortured by the great prophecy were mostly adults now... So grateful for everything they had these days.
And well, those born and raised after all the shenanigans had a good, crazy GOOD life.
Percy and Annabeth truly reformed the demigod world- things that were never thought of before by neither of the half-bloods were normal now, daily... Most demigod kids were brought up in families, at least partially in some cases. They went to schools free of life threatening monsters, lived like any other human being. Maybe even better, things considered.
And as we set the scene of our well deserved utopia, let's get to the story now...
"Mama, mama!" Victoria came rushing into the living room of her home, Estelle tailing her as best as she could. After all, Victoria was faster, stronger, much more energetic.
Percy and Annabeth were sitting there with Sally and Paul, sipping their beverages and talking while the little twins were being entertained by toys and the coulisse of baby songs. It was just one of those days spent visiting each other's house.
The adults turned towards the girls, they were close in age, therefore naturally best friends, but so different in character and looks. The younger girl was her mother's copy, dark hair, deep brown eyes... The older of this duo had hair as fair as her mother, eyes bright like Percy, and seemed always naturally tan.
But now the latter described and first to storm in had big tears welling in her eyes, just on the verge of spilling.
"Mommy-" she clinged to Annabeth who looked around for an explanation, finding everyone confused as her and Estelle looking just a little quilty. The two fighting from time to time was nothing out of the ordinary.
"What is it baby girl?" Percy asked, patting Victoria's back.
Estelle walked over to her parents silently.
Victoria still said nothing.
"Hey-" Annabeth lifted the child up. "Did you two have a fight again?" She asked, the child now seated on her legs.
"Stella said that you're not really my mommy and daddy. Mom is that-" the girl started shakily.
And now to explain...
"Honey we've talked about this already, you are our daughter, exactly like your brother and sister are our babies." Annabeth started explaining while Sally and Paul whispered something to the little punk that stirred this fire.
Percy chymed in, knowing that they had this talk so often, yet understanding that it was hard for the five year old to fully take it all in. "It's like your mom says, you just didn't grow in her belly, but we've had you since you were a few days old, kid. You're stuck with us, no escaping."
"Percy..." Annabeth rolled her eyes. "You were born to someone else, yes, but this mommy, the one who had you in her belly, couldn't take care of you because she- she had to go take care of all the animals that went to Elysium. And your biological father, that's who made you with your mommy, that's who?" Annabeth asked that to calm her down, the kid was a smart girl, that was for sure.
"Poseidon, like your mom is Athena, mommy right?"
"Yeah, exactly! See, you've got this. But Poseidon is also the dad of Percy, so technically it's all weird and crazy... But you'll understand it all when you're older-" Annabeth fixed that statement as to not to get too much in depth.
"And you won't ever give me away?"
"Never!" The parents both exclaimed in sync. "We love you so much, your grandma and grandpa love you so much too... And Estelle didn't want to be mean to you, she just can't understand everything either." Percy said, cleaning his little sister's slate for everyone's sake.
"So you're good now?" Annabeth asked, easing on the hug.
"Yeah-" Victoria nodded, wiping her face. "I'm okay!" She jumped down, bubbly and cool again even through the teary eyes. "Come on then, Estee-" She waved Estelle over and grabbed her hand, instantly starting to chat.
There was a short moment of silence until the twins, curious of what the commotion was about, picked themselves up and demanded their parents's attention too.
"Sorry about that- Estelle's been asking a lot lately. She's more and more into the myths and asks about the gods and everything and she didn't understand how you had your powers-" Sally started apologizing but Annabeth stopped her, saying that it was fine and that nothing horrible happened, at which Sally turned a little soft again.
"I'm so proud of you two." Sally said.
"We are-" Paul said. "We really are proud of you. And happy that you're giving us these cuddly bears and-"
"Come on, you'll make me cry." Percy said, not entirely sure if he was just kidding or not.
Annabeth smiled at them, lips pressed together in her state of gratitude and sudden overflow of emotions. She looked out the glass wall at Victoria and Estelle playing tag, Greer chasing them. She looked back at Percy with their baby girl and down at the jittery boy in her lap.
Annabeth turned to Percy's parents. "We wouldn't have this if it weren't for you." She said, remembering very well how they helped them out in high school when Victoria was just a baby and how everytime they needed an advice or help they happily drove down to the HB City.
"That's nonsense..." Sally said, seeing her little boy in this grown man in front of her and the spunky girl in Annabeth. "Let's get over that now and talk business, when are you having more of these?" Sally asked jokingly, addressing the babies. Not really though, she was dead serious about raising her own football team, slash army of grandchildren.
