"Hello, Gilbert, good morning.
"ah no, that's far too ordinary," Anne said frustrated. She looked at herself in the mirror with a stern expression, "Why am I even practicing what to say to him, he isn't worth any of my precious time," said Anne sassily. The girl tied her braids with a white ribbon, then smoothed her gray dress with her hands, and walked down the stairs.

She and Gilbert made eye contact, once she was visible from the dinning table. She cleared her throat softly as she sat down, next to him. Her face blushed at first, when she realized that was the only seat available, it infuriated her, she wanted to sit in her usual seat next to Mathew.
Yes, it made her so frustrated, and she was so disappointed, for having to sit next to Gil- that boy.

That's what she told herself, but the butterflies in her stomach shouted otherwise. To which she put her best foot forward when it came to subsiding these feelings. Still she could feel her heart beating in her chest hastily, but that didn't stop her from "convincing" herself that it was just nerves for school, considering there was to be another spelling bee.

"Good morning Anne," said Gilbert, fluently, to his surprise. He silently applauded himself for not stuttering.

"Good morning to you too," oh, how she faltered under his gaze, the two stared at each other, with such love. They both tried so hard to suppress it, but they always failed to disguise their eyes. A boyish grin spread across Gilbert face and his eyebrows furrowed from the intensity of their undeniable connection, but of course they would deny it.

No matter if the two could except it or not, a complete stranger could see how enamored they were by each other, just from looking at that one glance.

Marilla and Mathew exchanges knowing looks, both wearing a smug smile, and a raised eyebrow. Both of the adults, not wanting to interrupt this moment for the young soulmates, didn't say a word.

Marilla looked at Mathew, raising her eyebrow a little higher for a second as if to say, "what do you think, of them." Mathew smiled wider and nodded swiftly.

He shook his head once more looking at the kids, who were still lost in each other eyes, to which Marilla interpreted correctly by thinking he meant, "they are meant to be, I support it."

Finally, Anne realized how long she had been looking and pulled her eyes away, more reluctantly than she would like to admit. Gilbert didn't move his gaze even after she had turned her head, for he was utterly memorized by her, the way she looked in this exact moment, he never wanted to forget it. He knew that very night he would be playing this moment in his head on repeat, until it flowed into his dreams.

Anne cleared her throat once again and said, "Shall I say grace."

"Mmhm," was all Gilbert could get out.

Marilla smiled to herself seeing the boy in such a speechless state. The woman grabbed Mathews hand with her left, and reached her right hand out to Anne. Anne eagerly grasped her hand then looked to her right hand and that when it occurred to her that she would need to grab Gilbert's hand. The boy held his hand out for her, but she stayed there just looking at it for a couple seconds.

"Anne?" Said Gilbert.

"Oh, yes," she cleared her throat for the third time that day, she realized that happened a lot when she was in the presence of Gilbert Blythe. She put her hand on top of his and intertwined their fingers. Gilbert's breath caught when she began holding his hand, that way, most the time people would not intertwine their fingers just to say a prayer, but he was no in anyway complaining.

His smile only widened as his finally moved his eyes to look in front of him, his eyes brows raised, he looked at the two adults and couldn't help the hopeful expression that rose to his blushing face.

This is very long considering not much happened in this chapter but, don't worry next chapter will be up later today and it will have some more events happen. Including the rest of breakfast! The chapter after that will have the spelling bee I presume. I am so pumped right now which is refreshing because I was lacking motivation to write for a while. Your guys comments really Helped me want to write more so THANK YOU! I love you and good bye for now ☺️❤️
