Episode 26: An Arriving Challenger!
—
EVER SINCE LEVY FOUND out that the quad couldn't read or write completely, she was adamant on teaching them both skills; and maybe if she could, another language! She was absolutely so ecstatic over it that the group felt as if it was wrong to say no. In fact, her lessons would actually turn out handy since clearing charges seemed to be more paperwork than they realized.
I mean, Mirajane and Master Makarov said they would take care of it themselves, but handling what could possibly be jail time for a group of four is never that easy. Even Makarov didn't seem to be happy about it, actually groaning and moping for an entire day before Mira knocked any sense into him and told him to get to work. It was both amusing and sad to watch.
"Requited," Levy corrected Nikos again as his scraggly handwriting from more than a decade ago made a reappearance. Out of the group, only Nikos, Chase, and Akane could write. Galena was taught not to write and rather focus on the studying of spells, much like Y/n. After realizing Y/n's unbreakable bond with animals, they had used that to their advantage.
However, that's their story to tell in due time. Nikos's groan snapped Y/n out of her dazed state as he threw the pen up in the air, catching it with his teeth, but careful not to break it enough, so ink would spill in his mouth. "Who cares? I'm just going to re-quit." He rolled his eyes, using the word completely wrong.
Akane blinked at him, whacking him on the head with a nearby book. "That's not how the word's used, dumbass." The two started their own quarrel, though it was mainly one-sided since Akane barely paid any attention to his dumb accusations and insults. Y/n looked over at them, tilting her head. Levy looked helpless, brown eyes holding concern and worry.
Chase noticed the look in her eyes, tilting his head up at her. "Don't worry about them. Just wait for them to let it die out and by 'them', I mean Nikos." He said, sending a sharp glare to the snake boy. Nikos quickly noticed, perking when he heard his name, but frowning when he realized what Chase was referring to.
The door of the library suddenly slammed open, followed by a flash of light and a boisterous yell. "Y/N, FIGHT ME!" Sting's yell was cut off as a flaming punch was thrown at his face, him and Natsu starting a fight. Akane sighed, "There goes our quiet time." Snapping her fingers, she teleported everyone back into the main room.
Some people hid behind the bar, peeking daringly above it to see the chaos that ensued. Keeping a dome up, the black-haired girl's fingers buzzed as she watched tables break against it while chairs flew across the room. Erza—who'd previously tried to stop the fight—gave up as the group made their way to her, the dome dispersing.
"Why was Sting asking to fight me?" Y/n blinked, leaning against Chase's left arm. Erza smiled, digging her fork into her strawberry cheesecake. "Natsu may have let it slip again about your strength. Now, he's determined to fight you to prove to Natsu that he's stronger than him." Y/n twiddled with her fingers, a nervous look on her face. "I didn't really fight him though. . . "
Erza tilted her head, about to continue, "Well, it seems that—" Her sentence was cut off when someone's foot slammed into her cheesecake, blowing it to pieces. The entire group that initially surrounded her instantly backed off, the fighting still continuing as a dark aura surrounded Titania.
Akane put her barrier back up, extending it a bit. Erza's menacing aura grew as she turned around, scowling at the fighting crowd with an evil glint in her eyes. "WHO DARED TO DESTROY MY STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE?!" With a war cry, she entered the chaos. Within minutes, everyone was down and on the ground, leaving a satisfied yet slightly upset Erza.
Akane put her hands down, the barrier breaking apart. "They aren't kidding when they call her Titania." She mumbled under her breath, Levy looking over and nodding in agreement. Suddenly, as if the fight had never happened, the main starters of it had somehow managed to recover and pop their heads up from the pile of people.
"Y/N, FIGHT ME!" Sting managed to yell out, appearing beside Natsu. Y/n awkwardly looked over at her older brothers for assistance. Never, once in her life, had someone ever asked her to fight them. Instead, it was more of asking her to leave them alone. Although Y/n was intimidating and scary on the battlefield, she was a huge softie when it came to newcomers and her close friends.
Nikos and Chase looked over at her. The snake boy gave a nonchalant shrug, red eyes darting back and forth between the daring blond and his little sister. Chase, on the other hand, just gave an encouraging smile. Y/n fumbled with her fingers before Akane pushed her forwards with a smirk, "C'mon, show 'em what you got, big sis." She winked slyly.
Y/n nodded slowly, swallowing harshly as she looked towards Sting. A wave of confidence ran through her as she processed Akane's words, her magic power showing off as she managed to dramatically billow her cape through the sheer force of her magic. Sting watched, awestruck as his jaw hung. If it weren't for the skin attached, it would've broken through the floor.
The h/c haired girl looked towards him, a small smile on her face as the fang on the side of her neck glowed, as if sensing the use of a large amount of magic power in the next few moments. "Alright, Sting. Show me what you got," Makarov was easy to counter this provocation, looking towards her with a tired sigh and equally tired expression.
"If you're going to fight, please go out in the field and do it. I can't afford to lose more furniture and if you two do fight, I'd be risking the entire guild hall."
