Episode 30: Helping a Capitalist Pig!
—
"I GOT IT!" Chase yelled, flying forward with his chains leaving a trail behind him. An orange light was leaving him as he kept using his chains as grappling hooks to move faster. The entire team was on a mission to get an ancient key that was wrongfully stolen by a band of thieves, according to the man that requested the help.
Y/n watched him chase after the ancient key. It was in the hands of a large bird. How ironic compared to the first time they ran into team Natsu, right? Erza looked towards Y/n, brandishing one of her swords as a glittering gold left her body due to her requip magic. "I need you to get me there, Y/n. Can you do that?" She asked politely, eyes locked onto the bird above.
Quickly nodding, she morphed into a cheetah. It was lightweight enough for her to keep up a good amount of speed and the most weight that'd be put on was Erza's own armor. Currently, however, she was in her wind god armor, which was basically cloth and a few bandages minus the blades. Flipping herself onto Y/n's torso, she patted her shoulder as a signal.
Y/n raced forward, feeling her animalistic lungs expand much larger than she was used to. Y/n continued to race forward, jumping over a ditch as the foliage grew thicker and thicker. With a single swing of her blade, the trees cleared as the wind knocked it back. Erza grit her teeth, knowing she had to wait for the perfect time.
Speeding up, Y/n made sure that her position was parallel to that of the bird with the key. Chase was going after it right behind the bird, so it surely wouldn't notice Erza. Letting out a catty roar, Erza understood and used her teammate as a jumping pad. Y/n was barely affected, but it did force her to morph back quickly to catch herself and roll a bit to slow her speed.
Digging her hands into the ground, she lifted herself off of it and stood up. Indeed, Erza had made a powerful swing at the bird and nearly knocking it out of the sky. However, it wasn't enough, forcing the bird to dive towards her and nearly hitting her in the face with its beak. Caught off guard by the speed, Titania was frozen.
Chase had been quick, wrapping a chain around the bird's talons and swinging it to the other side. Its grip loosened on the key and he quickly caught it, grinning in triumph. "Fuck yeah!" He cheered, holding up the key as the others roared in excitement a few yards away. As he swung back with his chains, Erza hopped back onto the h/c cheetah Y/n had turned into.
As they returned to the group and Erza got off, Y/n took back her human form, tightening the white cloak around herself as she meandered to the others. Lucy was cheering about money, Natsu was asking about the key, Wendy was reading the paper, and Gray seemed to be chilling out for the time being. Nikos was playing with one of his snakes and Akane was on her phone.
Blinking at the key that Natsu kept poking at and Chase was holding, Y/n felt as if it was familiar. Tilting her head, she stared curiously. As if sensing the stare, her older brother turned to her with the ancient key still in his hand. It was made out of dark gray stone and covered in moss, but the form of it still didn't falter to look like an actual key.
"What's up? You're staring at it like it's your favorite meal," He chuckled, teasing her as she rolled her eyes and turned her face away, cheeks tinting a light pink. Noticing the commotion, Gray and Nikos came out from their aloof areas, convening to the group. "Nothing. The key just looks weird, that's all." She swallowed her ideas, lying.
Chase didn't seem to buy it but figured that it was his little sister being weird. He slowly nodded, letting go of the topic and glancing towards Erza. She seemed to get the idea that she should call for the next move, "So, we should—" In an instant, they had already arrived at the manor of the man who requested the help in the first place.
Akane put down her arms, purple sleeves draping to her sides as she boredly looked ahead. "It seems that you all forgot that teleporting is one of my abilities." She mused. Akane could only teleport to areas that she recognized or was familiar with and since they'd met up with the requester before heading off, it was easy for her to get them all back here.
Chase's chains disappeared up his sleeves as he tilted his head, smiling. "You don't use it as much as you used to, so it's just a slip of the mind." He ruffled her black hair as she frowned, attempting to swat his hand away. Erza approached the door first, knowing that if anyone else did, they'd make a fool of themselves or somehow do something wrong.
Knocking politely, her metallic armor clinking and clanking at the action. The large red doors with golden rims and designs opened to reveal a short man, two taller men at his sides. He must've been pretty rich to have two bodyguards at his side at all times. It was impressive, but also irked the Kyuuseishu. Akane muttered under her breath, "Damn rich people. . . "
They hadn't grown up with that much privilege and most people that were rich turned out to be capitalistic pigs and claimed to donate, but never did. It was utterly pathetic. The short man with silvery hair and a large silvery mustache blinked, seeing Titania hold the ancient key in her armored hand. He clapped joyfully, smiling warmly. "Oh, thank you! Thank you so much!"
He grinned broadly, taking the key from her grasp before handing it to one of the bodyguards as the other threw the sack of jewels at their feet. Almost reaching up to four hundred thousand, Erza reached down and picked up the money. However, there was a look of distaste in her eyes at the rude gesture of throwing their payment at the ground.
"Have a good day, sir." She said through gritted teeth.
