Episode 10: The Path to Battle!

SHE SNARLED, louder this time. Nikos could be a sweetheart, but he could also be a huge pain in the ass. Chase had revealed this morning about a trio called the 'Three Stars'. He'd found out about them after talking to Zash. Apparently they were powerful and could pack quite the punch, remaining as King Animus's only backup plan since they'd broken a window and fled the castle.

Currently, the entire array of the team that they'd crafted with the addition of team Natsu, were riding on panthers as they headed towards a loud ruckus. A sudden slice ran through the air, nearly hitting Y/n, but she easily dodged it, as did the other cats. "Swan," Chase narrowed his eyes as Erza countered the attack with her sword.

"Oh, the lovely Titania! Let's play!" She teased, hopping from one beam to another. Chase hopped off the panther, using his chains as grappling hooks to power himself forward. Without the panther, he could be must faster on his own accord. "Gal, let's go!" He yelled at her while Gal followed on her panther.

A boy on a bullet that had a similar hairstyle to Natsu suddenly flew past them, forcing them all to duck in a panic. Akane put up a force field as it hit him farther back. She hopped off the panther, earbuds stuck in her ears as she scowled, purple buzzing at her fingertips. "That man nearly broke my phone! I'm totally staying back to kick his ass!" 

Carla flew Wendy into the air, "We'll join you, Akane! The rest of you head forward!" She cheered, dodging another attack. Natsu nodded, yelling back. "Got it!" Just after another few feet of running, Lucy began to diverge from the path, looking back at Natsu. "Sorry, Natsu, but I got to go save the girls from the dungeon!"

Y/n let out a roar, wanting to go with her. Nikos patted Y/n's back, hopping off of her. Another boom caught their attention as Gray paced forward. "I'll go up ahead to check it out," He patted the panther as it started running at top speed. Nikos followed behind him, using his large snake as transportation. "Wait up!" 

Natsu continued heading forward, flashing an encouraging grin at the two ladies as Y/n ran as fast as she could, Lucy directing her to the underground entrance into the Alistair dungeon. "Girls, run away as far as you can!" She chimed once they were inside, rapidly unlocking the jail cell bars. The girls stumbled away weakly, but only got to the other side.

Zash appeared, attempting to use his magic on both Lucy and Y/n, but utterly failed. "Cover your eyes!" Y/n—who had managed to revert to her human form—yelled at the line of girls as they quickly shielded their eyes from Zash's vision and squeezed them shut. Zash looked absolutely bewildered when Y/n didn't seem to be affected, even after looking in his eyes.

Lucy waved a golden key, "Gate of the Goat, I open thee; Capricorn!" She put her key away. "It looks like your magic doesn't work when you protect your eyes," Lucy winked as her celestial spirit complimented her. "Good thinking, Miss Lucy." He praised her. It did look a little odd for him to say that, but Y/n just liked to think that it was the fact that he was a literal sea-goat. 

Zash still looked shocked, looking towards Y/n. She remained in her crouch position, smirking. "It seems like you've forgotten that the assets of a shape shifter also involve enhanced abilities. Including eyesight," She concluded, grinning triumphantly. The bulky man waved his hand, "I've had enough of this, Red Knife!" 

His large red dog lunged at the women, but Y/n quickly stopped him. Morphing into a large wolf, Y/n pinned the hound down as a threatening snarl built up in her throat, scaring the dog enough to make him pass out. Tilting her head up to howl, wolves from the forest howled back as they sprinted towards her location. Zash grit his teeth, heading out and leaving. 

Lucy blinked, adjusting her glasses. "Where could he possibly be going?" Virgo popped up, appearing after Lucy had subtly opened her gate as well. "I suggest that you and Miss Y/n follow him. I can make sure that the ladies get away safely." The odd maid started to help them climb on top of the wolves and head far from the scenario.

"Right!" Lucy nodded, closing Capricorn's gate as she looked towards Y/n sheepishly. The h/c furred wolf nearly knelt down with a compliant bark, allowing the celestial wizard to hop on top of her. Speeding up the steps and following Zash's scent, they were out of there quickly. Running as fast as she could, she could only prove to be a little late.

The two ended up meeting right after Happy had thrown up flames towards no one in particular. "Whoa, that was incredible, Happy!" Lucy cheered, hopping off of Y/n and praising the blue cat. Happy blinked, a puff of smoke leaving his mouth as he looked towards his blonde haired friend. "Thanks, Lucy."

Sonya—who'd been crumpled on the floor surrounded by mirrors up until now—tiredly raised her head, shaking slightly. "You'll die for betraying me, Zash." Lucy's eyes widened before the entire building exploded, King Animus finally being exposed. Y/n turned into a bird last minute, grabbing Happy by one talon and Lucy's collar in her beak, flapping in the air.

She set them down, all three of them startled by the reveal of Animus. Natsu suddenly landed, his fist breaking into the ground underneath him as a look of rage overtook his face. "Look after Happy and Sonya, Lucy." He spoke before going away. They watched as Animus scaled the tower angrily, going after the Dragon Cry.

Natsu had followed not long after, fire bursting from his feet as he began climbing up the slightly broken tower as well. Y/n looked up, unsure if she even had enough magic power to pull of a feat she had earlier. Looking down at the rubble that covered her hands and back up at the situation above them, a glint of determination filled her eyes.

Well, she had to try.
