Episode 8: Foes Become Friends!
—
"MIND EXPLAINING?!" Y/n swerved past another brush of foliage as Nikos screamed, clinging onto her for dear life. Currently, all of them were on their way to ignore the things that Zash had told them to do. After Y/n had explained some of what was going on, she had jumped out the window, followed by the rest of her friends.
She let out a snarl, clearly telling him to shut up. Her nose twitched as she stopped. The other panthers that her friends were riding on followed her actions, knowing that she was the superior in this stance. Y/n sniffed the air some more, pausing for a moment. Her eyes narrowed and she let out a catty roar, the other panthers mewling back in compliance.
She started up again, running even faster this time as Nikos whined, wrapping his arms around her large h/c neck. "OKAY, I'M SORRY! WILL YOU PLEASE JUST STOP—" Chase rolled his eyes at Nikos's antics, everyone else calmly riding the furry companions. Akane was even content enough to type something on her phone.
Y/n suddenly skidded to a stop, seeing fire in the distance. She stayed in her panther form, but the rest of her friends climbed off their transportation. Letting out a growl, the cats scurried off deep into the forest. They made their way to the small camp, seeing the mages. "The Kyuuseishu," Titania voiced, turning around with her hand on the hilt of her sword.
Instantly, all the other wizards were on edge. "We mean no harm," Chase held up his hand while Y/n let out a mewl at that, softly agreeing. The mages of Fairy Tail shared a look. "Before we start talking about our own crimes, we have information on the Dragon Cry and some other things. Though, Y/n has most of it." He looked towards the h/c panther.
Natsu burst out laughing, pointing and rolling around, hysterical. "The panther?! You think the panther will talk? Geez, you're dumber than I—" Y/n pounced on him, a snarl leaving her throat as her claws unsheathed. Chase gave her a warning look, a fireball being thrown as it nearly grazed her fur. "You could just shift instead of pouncing."
Y/n jumped over one of their tents, shifting midair to land as a human. She bowed politely, waving. "I won't apologize for that since that git got on my nerves. However, I do have information on the Dragon Cry. We'd be willing to work alongside you for the time being." Nikos snickered at that, one of his snakes that were coiled on his shoulder hissing.
Chase chirped, "In all honesty, Lucy, we were planning to save you if they didn't save you themselves. Apologies for not saving you earlier, but that was when we found out what we know now." Erza glanced at the others, a questioning look on her face. Natsu even had an inquisitive look of his own. Wendy suddenly piped up, "They aren't lying."
Lucy blinked, looking towards Wendy. "How can you tell?" Wendy smiled kindly, "I just feel it. They're telling the truth," Carla looked towards her, still in her cat form. "You can't just go around trusting everyone, Wendy—" She began to scold her companion, but Natsu stood up, offering a hand towards Chase. "—deal."
Chase smirked, tilting his head even though he had to look up about an inch or two. "Deal." They shook hands before settling around the fire as well. Akane moved her hands around, creating a barrier. The others gave her questioning and alarming looks as she answered boredly, taking the lollipop out of her mouth. "To protect us from the unwanted."
They just nodded, going along with it. Settling down again, Y/n leaned up against Chase in a white cloak of her own. "Sonia told me that the Dragon Cry will be used tomorrow night. Since all of Stella is riddled with stellanium, she said that since it's absorbing too much, they plan on using the Dragon Cry to get rid of it all." She mumbled under her breath.
Natsu had a furious expression, "That's bullshit." Chase mused, a fireball appearing on his right hand as the flames flickered, dancing within the night. "Isn't it?" Nikos looked to the side, both snakes coiling around his arms as he spoke up. "We can't sneak in and take it, however. We're not on good terms with them, especially after a certain someone broke a window."
Y/n turned to look at him, her hand turning into one of a cat's, claws unsheathing as she perked her brows at him challengingly. "Try me, you reptile—" Chase pushed their heads apart before thwacking them both on top of the head. "—enough, you two." Galena, sitting across from the arguing two and the Kyuuseishu's leader, signed silently.
Natsu blinked, pointing at Galena. "Why is she making gang signs?"
Lucy hit him across the head with a stick, scolding him. "That's sign language, you idiot!" Gray—who had remained silent for most of the time up until now—decided to speak up. He clicked his tongue, arms crossed as he leaned against one of the tents. "So, she's deaf?" Wendy shook her head, clarifying. "Mute, I can tell."
The five grew confused at that, sharing looks while Galena smiled brightly at the girl that was about her age. "Wendy has healing abilities." Carla, the white cat who was still in Wendy's arms, clarified, her tail swishing. Happy busied himself with one of the forest's red fruits, eating it. Carla instantly began scolding him. "Didn't I tell you not to eat that?!"
Erza looked at them, red hair dancing in the wind. "By the way, you never told us your names." However, no one of the group responded. Akane, Nikos, and Chase were looking at Y/n expectantly, on edge. Team Natsu didn't understand a thing, sharing their own looks while Galena looked down, feeling guilty. She must've pressured Y/n now.
They all expectantly blinked at her while Y/n's stomach twisted in fear and worry. Tell anyone about this and your stupid friends are next.
Chase finally voiced their thoughts, orange eyes piercing her e/c orbs. "What are you not telling us?"
