Episode 11: Up the Tower!
—
"LUCY," Y/n saying her name caught the blonde's attention as she lifted her head up in confusion. Y/n panted, having used most of her energy for transportation purposes or otherwise. "I need you to—" They were cut off as soldiers from underneath the ground appeared out of nowhere, Sonya flinching as she coughed. "—they're Quartum soldiers," She flinched again.
Continuing, Sonya coughed. "Zash's fourth generation dragon slayers." Lucy even seemed shocked at that, her head whipping to turn around. "What? Fourth?!" Y/n looked up weakly from her kneeling position, seeing an array of black covered soldiers with soulless red eyes. Her eyes widened, heart skipping a beat out of fear.
Y/n fell silent. If there were so many here, surely there were more spread throughout the city? The idea of it all merely made her throat become dry. Knowing no other remedy to this, she placed her hand down, a large magic circles forming above and below her. Sonya didn't recognize this spell, growing confused and shocked.
Lucy looked down, bewildered at the large black circle underneath her feet, a white one above her head. Y/n's hand was still placed down, her fang tattoo glowing a bright white as she recalled the words that she'd been forced to memorize from a young age. "Beasts of fury from Hell below and heaven above, heed my call and beseech your enemy!"
A swarm of light gathered in the magic circle in the sky before dipping down as smoothly as a river, revealing an array of light animals. From multiple pegasus, what looked to be angels, white wolves, and tiny sprites as the bottom magic circle paralleled the same thing, but revealed devilish minions, hell hounds, skeletal elks, and large crocodiles.
"Swarm," She ordered. With that word, the animals went berserk. They spread out amongst the land, attacking only what their master justified as enemies. Lucy's eyes widened in shock as she looked back at Y/n. Somehow, the girl remained to be sitting upright, even after such a surge of magic energy.
One white wolf had remained, however, waiting for his own personal orders since Y/n had told him to stay. "Find Chase and Nikos," She demanded as he sped off, leaving wisps of light in his trail. Another hell hound had stayed as well, standing on her other side as its fiery muscles flexed, a snarl building up in its throat. "Find Akane and Galena."
Sonya's blue eyes widened, staring at Y/n with utter shock. "Such power. . . " She muttered quietly, blinking at the girl. Y/n struggled to keep herself grounded, her head starting to feel light as black spots dotted across her vision. After realizing Y/n's beasts couldn't keep them away forever, Lucy had snapped back to reality, using Sagittarius.
The hell hound was the first to return, Akane putting up a barrier while Galena healed the h/c haired girl. As another crash resounded, the dragon was making moves on Natsu again. The white wolf returned soon after with Nikos and Chase on his back. It was obvious that Chase had gotten the brunt of most of it, the side of his head bleeding, but not too heavily.
Catching Y/n's gaze towards the dragon, Chase looked towards her. "Are you sure you want to do this?" She nodded quickly. He looked towards Galena, "Enhance her and myself. Akane, switch out with Nikos!" They did as they were told. Lucy was confused for a moment, but her brown eyes glittered with warmth, watching their family dynamic take action.
Nikos seemed to be in his ultimate form as well, black hair sticking up as his red eyes glowed brighter than ever. Poisonous claws grew on the ends of his fingers as red snake scales formed up to his elbow, a smirk shaping his lips as he ran threw the soldiers, tearing them apart at insane speeds.
Y/n let out a horrendous cry of pain. Sonya was startled at first, looking alarmed. Were her own teammates harming her? No. Lucy didn't bother looking back, knowing that they whatever they were doing was to help out. The horrendous cry turned into a layered shriek, scales covering all of Y/n's skin as her nails became claws.
Nikos even cheered for her, briefly turning around. "Alright! Let's go, lil sis!" He cheered her on, turning around again to slice up more enemies. Knowing her friends were counting on her, Y/n roared loudly and took to the air. Chase used his chains to keep himself and Akane on top of the dragon. Galena busied herself with enhancing the two as well as Lucy and Nikos.
Animus—who'd busied himself with going after Natsu—was obviously overtaken by whatever Zash's magic did to him. He had an eerie red glow to him and he didn't sound like himself. Y/n let out a shriek, flying towards Animus at top speeds as she latched her jaw to his neck and pushed him away. This granted Natsu a bit of breathing time.
The pink haired fire mage's eyes widened at the sight of a dragon, but didn't question it once he saw the h/c color glittering the scales. He gave a smile, showing his gratefulness before flipping himself and sprinting up the tower. However, as soon as that bliss had come, it had been countered when Y/n was knocked away by Animus's wing.
He powered up another beam, aiming for Natsu. Unfortunately, it hit just a few feet from where Natsu had been running, forcing him to fall out of the tower and nearly to his doom. Y/n was about to dip down and catch him, but Chase had pulled on the chains, getting Y/n's attention. She quickly countered Animus's beam at her with an f/c one of her own.
Not even noticing the fact that the Dragon Cry had been used as glittering gold magic circles appeared in the night sky, she was just relieved to see Happy catch Natsu from the corner of her eye. "Y/n!" Akane yelled, catching the dragon's attention as she pushed back Animus's attack further. "I need you to drop me somewhere safe! I'll keep the armor up!"
Chase gave her a sideways glance, not understanding why Akane would want such a thing.
"Just trust me! I need to check something out!"
