THE WEDDING NIGHT PART 2

When Vikram entered his suite it was already 4 AM .Vikram was damn tired . It had taken so long to solve the problem . He had thought that he would be able to finish everything in an hour or two but it had taken the entire night .

The one night he hadbeen waiting for so long and now he had spoiled everything.

Shnaya must have been upset waiting for him but the problem could neither have been delayed or postponed. It was a matter of the family's honour and for Vikram family came first. He would apologise to shnaya for spoiling their first night together . He himself had been anxiously waiting for tonight but then family honour came first.

When he entered the room and saw Shnaya sleeping peacefully he felt a little relaxed .

Maybe she wouldn't be mad at him and would forgive him .

After changing he was tempted just to just look at her . It was then he saw her dried up tears. So she had been upset afterall . It was all his fault . It was the beginning of their new life and he had hurt her .

He kissed her forehead , covered her with a blanket and went to sleep .

The next morning Shnaya woke up abruptly because she felt a hand at her back . So her husband had arrived after all . But then why didn't he wake her ?

Maybe her fears were true . He didn't want any physical relationship with her . They would be married in name only . But then why had he lied to her ? Pretending to be attracted to her ?

She decided to ask him when he woke up . But first she needed to get ready as their must be some family rituals to be performedThr moment she came out of the bathroom there was a knock at the door . She quickly covered herself with a gown and opened the door to reveal a servant carrying a tray with tea and biscuits.

"Rajkumari ji where should I keep the tea ?" She was moving to the bedroom but Shnaya stopped her midway .

" You can keep it on the table and leave "

"Should I make you and the Rajkumar a cup ?"

" No the Rajkumar is asleep and I can make myself a cup . Thanks "

Something about this girl didn't seem right . It was as if she was more interested in visiting the bedroom rather than serving the tea .

The girl frowned and left the room .

Shnaya was not too fond of tea but today she had a raging headache so a cup would be nice .

It was the first day of her married life . She had expected that they would have tea together . She wanted to wake him but he must have arrived at an ungodly hour so she let him sleep.

She opened her wardrobe to reveal heavily embroidered lehngas . She decided to wear a combination of purple and pink .

She had just changed when there was another knock on the door .

A young girl around eighteen years entered , " Rajkumari ji I have come to help you dress up "

"What's your name dear ?"

"Meghna"

"Meghna as you can see I am dressed up and ready ,so you may go "

" What if I style your hair or help with the jewellary ?"

"No dear I am done today. Maybe you can help tomorrow"

Meghna had tears in her eyes .

"What happened Meghna?Why are you crying?"

"Everyone thinks I am useless . Now you also don't need my help . I will be scolded since I was late to help you dress up "

"I think I may need help with my jewellery after all . Meghna help me tie this necklace . And also find the earring that go with it "

Meghna now rushed to the drawer to find her matching earrings . She had a big smile on her face. On seeing her enthusiasm Shnaya too smiled.

Shnaya

Went straight to the Maharani 's room to take her blessings . She bent down to wish her but the Maharani took her in her arms and kissed her forehead. " Shnaya you are looking very beautiful and elegant just like a princess should be "

"Didi you are too generous with your praises? Shnaya you are a newly wed princess. Shouldn't you wear something more heavy and elaborate. This lehnga is way to simple . It is meant to be daily wear not something to be worn on your first day . Maya was always beautifully dressed . You should have taken lessons from her . Well it is still not late I can teach you .

Afterall you are to become Maharani one day though you don't deserve to . "The last words she literally whispered in Shnaya's ears .

Shnaya was in tears when she left the room .

She quietly went to her room . After ten minutes the Maharani entered , " Shnaya dear chachi can be cruel at times but don't take anything to heart . She will accept you . Actually she was quite fond of Maya so you taking her place has been a little difficult for her . I am happy by your behaviour though thst you didn't answer back . Now lets go downstairs to meet everyone . We are leaving today . Vikram and you can come after a few days "

"No mom we are leaving alongside . I have a matter of urgency at the kingdom . I have spoken with Shnaya's father that we are leaving today so he is coming to meet her in an hour or so then we will to leave ", Vikram spoke coming out of the bathroom .

"Shnaya you please ask the maid to pack your stuff ? Mine has already been packed "

Maharani left the room disturbed. Vikram had been out all night . Now he was not willing to stay here for a few days . Any newly married would love to spend time together . What was going on ? First he had surprised them by announcing he was marrying Shnaya and not Maya and now he was running from her as well ?

Same questions were running through Shnaya's mind when she went downstairs to meet everyone .

Most of the elders were kind and blessed her . Mainly chachi seemed to ignore her .

Her father arrived with gifts for everyone . He kissed her forehead and she hugged him crying.

" Everything ok beta . "

" Yes papa . Everything is ok . Vikram is wonderful and the Maharani treats me like a daughter "

" I am so relieved. Due to the circumstances I was worried for you. But Shnaya I have known Vikram for the past ten years . He maybe a prince but he is a very honest and hardworking man . He will take good care of you I am sure "

Vikram arrived . " Welcome Rajkumar Vikram "

" Papa I may be a rajkumar but now I am your son so please call me Vikram no Rajkumarji "

Vikram touched his feet to seek his blessings .

Shnaya noticed this . Maybe her father was right and She needn't worry . Everything would be all right .
