THE PROPOSAL

"Eric I don't love you and it breaks my heart to tell you this . You are such a loving person and you deserve so much more . Eric you deserve true love . I won't be able to give you that and it will be wrong for you if I marry you . You deserve a chance at true love a love which I feel for Vikram .Even if I don't reconcile with Vikram I want him to be happy and if his happiness is with Maya I am happy ."

"And you Eric are the best friend anyone can hope for . I trust you with my life . I trust you more than I trust my husband But I love him not you . I sincerely wish that I could love you the way you should be loved . You are the perfect man goodlooking , charming , caring and a billionaire- what else could a girl want " Shnaya smiled at him .

Eric saw that she too had tears in her eyes . She hugged him .

"Shnaya I love you too much to lose you . You are my dearest friend .Please keep this ring as a token of our friendship "

"No Eric this ring belongs to someone you love not me . Its an engagement ring and it is far too expensive " Shnaya refused to accept it .

"Shnaya I bought this ring with you in mind . It's sapphires reflect your eyes and the diamond reflects your purity and honesty .It belongs to you only and I will feel offended if you don't accept it . I will believe you don't want to be my friend anymore "Eric told her .

Shnaya reluctantly agreed .

"May I " saying this he put the ring on her right hand finger .

Both of them were not in mood for any desert so they left the yacht and reached their hotel .

Eric asked her if she wanted to have coffee in the lounge but she refused . She wished him good night he kissed her hand and she left .

He went to the hotel bar to drown in his sorrows . He had behaved very decently with her but the truth was that he had been deeply hurt by her refusal . He had thought that by now she must have developed some feelings for him . He truly loved her and was prepared to wait . But tonight he just wanted to drink and forget everything.

Shnaya could not sleep that night . Vikram had not called her for the past two days . It was already late or she would call him .

Shnaya had barely fallen asleep when the hotel phone rang ," Madam Are you with Mr Eric ?"

"Yes"

"Madam can you please come downstairs in the lobby ?"

"But why ?"

"Its regarding Mr Eric ?"

"What happened to Eric ? Oh My God ! Is he ok ? I"

"Madam please come downstairs . We have a situation here "he replied.

"Ok I am coming downstairs in a minute " Shnaya panicked
