"That's odd..." I said to Natasha. We were looking at the crime rate in New York City. It had gone down drastically in the last five months, which was when I joined.

"It is, I'll search for any major energy signals from underground or the ocean. Can you contact Fury?" She asked while looking over to me. I nodded and walked over to a different screen in the living room, dialing Fury and standing straight.

"Agent L/n, what is it?" Fury had said to me as he picked up.

"Director Fury, according to the monthly New York City Police Department crime rate reports, the crime rate has gone down drastically in the last five months. I was thinking that maybe organizations are partnering and waiting for a day to attack."

"Very good Agent L/n, we'll check around and see if anything 'interesting' is happening. You try to search for anything suspicious around the city." I nodded and stared at the screen, biting my lip. What if there would be a major fight?

"In the meantime-" Fury added on but a loud explosion was heard. I looked to the right, out of the window. There was fire that had exploded into the air, charcoal black smoke rising into the blue sky. I watched in horror as the apartment building was burning.

I was playing in some sand near our cherry blossom tree. My mom liked to tend to them as a challenge, keeping them alive all year long. A ladybug had landed on top of my little sand castle next to an ant that was exploring. I leaned over and watched them up close, happy to see them 'talking'. Then the ladybug had picked up the ant and started shoving it into its mouth, the ant squirming around still while it's head was off. I watched in horror as the ladybug finished off the ant. It then flew away and I destroyed my castle, thinking it was my fault the poor little and had to die like that.

I heard a loud explosion from behind me, I turned around and saw my house, on fire. I stood up quickly and ran inside, trying to find my mom.

"Mommy!"

"Y/n!" I turned to where my mom was and saw her stuck under a wooden pillar. I ran to her and tried to lift it up but since I was young, I didn't have strength. My mom grunted in pain as the pillar was crushing her.

"Y/n! You need to get out of here!"

"Mommy I won't leave you! I can't!"

"Save yourself Y/n! I'll be okay! I promise."

"Where do I go? What do I do?" I held her hand and spoke quickly, scared of the fire that was getting stronger.

"Go to the —————, ————— will be there to help you! Go now! I love you Y/n!"

"I love you too, mommy!" I ran out of my house as fast I could, the fire trying to burn me. I turned around once I was out, seeing my burning house and the cherry blossoms surrounding it. My sand pit and some of my toys sitting there. I ran and ran as fast as I could.

"Avengers! Suit up now!" Steve yelled as he rushed past the living room. I snapped out of my flashback and ran to my room. Quickly changing into my suit, I went to the stairs and went all the way up to the roof. I got to the roof and saw the avengers getting into a jet. I quickly ran and got in too, sitting down and buckling up. Loki was across from me, Steve to my left, and Thor to my right. I started to bite my lip again and picked at my nails, why did that flashback happen? Is that how she died? My thoughts got interrupted by Thor putting his hand on my knee, i looked at him and he gave me a soft smile.

"Do not fret, lady Y/n. All will be okay." Thor said to me softly. I smiled and thanked him, turning back ahead to think. I could see out of the top of my eyes that Loki had turned to the side, looking jealous. Knowing Loki still cared for me made me ease up a little bit.
