I was with Tony and Loki in the booth to get passes. It was both exciting yet nerve wracking to hear the roller coasters rattling and the screams. There were a couple people in front of us getting their picture taken for the passes. I discreetly looked over at Loki, he was looking around and bored as almost always. Tony was over at a counter talking to the pass person. I fidgeted with my fingers, hearing the screaming and roaring wasn't sitting so well with me.

  After what felt like an eternity, the photographer yelled for the next person and Loki went up to take a picture, what a gentleman.

  "Smile!" The photographer said happily, Loki gave a death glare to the camera as it was taken, which made the photographer recoil his happiness. I chuckled at the scene and went to sit on the stool in front of the camera.

  "Smile!" Unlike Loki, I gave a small closed smile and tried to look as nice as possible. After the photo was done I hopped off the stool and stood awkwardly in a corner, waiting for the passes. I played with my fingers while waiting, it was just a bit awkward between me and Loki. Finally the passes were done and Tony handed them to us. I put mine around my neck and walked out the tent after Tony with Loki behind me.

  We finally got into the park, Tony trying to shout some rules at us but everyone was nervously talking. Well, everyone except me. Everyone stood in the glaring sun, the heat soaking through my dark clothes and making me uncomfortable. Finally everyone calmed and listened to Tony. He told us to use a buddy system, oh great, just my luck. Everyone was pairing up and going separate ways. I looked down at my shoes and shuffled them awkwardly. Two black shoes came into sight and I looked up, meeting two emerald eyes.

  "Want to be my 'buddy'?" The god said. I nodded slowly and we both took off. It seemed like he was unfazed about what had happened. The realization hit me that he had probably never been to an amusement park before.

  "Do you wanna go on a ride?" I asked him while looking up at him.

  "Well, what are they like?"

  "Some of them have loops, some have really big drops, some go backwards, and some just twist you around. But we can just go on a regular one for now." He simply nodded and continued walking. And idea popped into my head and I grabbed his hand, pulling him in the other direction. His hands were warm, warmer than the sun soaking through my clothing. He walked along with me until I stopped in line for a ride. He looked around at all the children next to us.

  "Y/n, why are there a bunch of children around us?" He grabbed my shoulder and turned me around a bit.

  "Just relax, Loki, it'll be fun." I looked ahead at the swing ride, hoping that Loki would at least like it. Finally it was time to get into a chair and buckle in. I ran to a seat and lifted the bar up, sitting down inside and attaching the chain. Loki was standing next to me, unsure of what to do.

  "Well get in one, Loki! Just lift up the bar!" I said to him as I swung my legs. He walked over the the seat next to me and lifted up the metal bar, sitting inside and copying my actions. He looked over at me and I gave him a thumbs up. Then the ride started up and we lifted into the air. It was nice to have a contrasting breeze to the hot weather. I looked over at Loki who was trying to hide the smirk on his lips. I smiled ahead and enjoyed the nice ride, suddenly wanting to go on a big coaster.
