Chapter 36

Yesterday arrived Mianzo, he arrived right after Lord Drek and King Sane. And the day next after in the morning General June came to me to let me know about my death date.

In the morning :

'A few minutes before arrived Lenas and Uro. The last ones.' he announced to me.

I was quiet. I did not understand why did he come to me? Why did he tell me this information?

'In the afternoon we are going to kill you.' he said.

'So I came to let you know and prepare.' he continues.

To kill? Now? I thought that I have more days. He lied like in the past to my father.

'Enjoy last hours.' he said and he left.

Last hours. I thought that it is easy to accept death but now I see that it is not. Noor...

No, do not think about Noor. It will be only worse. Until this morning Noor was the one who I fear the most but General June came I found out that Noor is the only one now with whom I feel safe.

Ohh, Lea!

I am still attached to the tree. I want to sleep, the whole night I was afraid of King Sane. I was afraid that he would come and make of me his target one more time. I did not fall asleep.

I saw all the guests. they were passing by me, laughing and pointing at me. The first one is King Sane, the second Lord Drek - he was throwing apples at me. The next was Mianzo, from what I heard he is a friend of General June. He cut a little my cheek under my eyes near the bone. The last were Lenas, Lord of Crecie ( the land in kingdom Jilan) and Uro, number second in revolutionaries he arrived now because he had a mission. They were passing around the tree I am attached to and commenting by them the pitiful situation I am in.

The hours passed and all of them and their subordinates, all revolutionaries - they come to me with candles and swords. They are happy.

I am starting to shiver.

'So the hour, minute and second of your death is coming.' says king Sane.

'Princess Leonora.'say all participants.

I fear them. I fear them. I am shivering more and more.

'Light up the candles and bring them to the tree.' General June says.

To the tree?

They take candles to the tree, they put them near the tree. The flames almost touching the tree I am attached to.

'Push them closer.' General June demands.

I look at him with a face full of fear.

'Go! Do it.' General June shouts at them.

They did as they were told.

The candles were so close to the tree.

'Princess Leonora, before you die we will tell you your mistakes, the ones you are dying for.' says King Sane.

'The first, you let Charlotte go, my love.' says King Sane.

'The second, you ruled so bad. 'General June says.

'The third, and you married Noor, who became king of our kingdom.' say the others.

'I am sorry!' I apologize.

'No accepted.' says Uro.

'I apologized because I want to not because I wanted to beg for my Life.' I say.

They look confused.

'After my death, I will not apologize.' I continue.

'First, I did not know about Charlotte. My dad did not tell me this kind of things. He did not tell me about anything. It was unnecessary. The second, I was raised to marry someone wealthy, I am a woman and by my father, the woman should not rule the kingdom. The third I married Noor because I did not have an option. I know that these words are only excuses for you, but for me, it is more than that. Even if you did not accept them, I feel better after saying this. Yes, I do not want to die. But I am not strong enough to run away from this fate. So do it, if you want. 'I say.

'We do not want to listen.' says Lenas and goes to the tree.

He picks up from the ground one candle and takes it near to ropes which are around me. He lights up the ropes.

When the first flame it is seen we heard a shot.

'Who is guarding the gate now?' asks King Sane.

'Nobody sir.' answers one of the revolutionaries.

'Why not?' asks King Sane furiously.

'General June told us that he wants everybody to see this girl's death.' he answers.

King Sane turns around to General June. He slaps him.

'You idiot!' he says.

'We are under attack.' panics another one.

The men are coming and they start fighting all my enemies. But the ones who came are my enemies too?

The flame destroyed the ropes and I was free after so many days with cuffed arms. I cannot walk so much. It hurts. But I overcome the pain and start running away to the way behind the tree.

No soldier comes to me to catch me. Maybe they did not notice that I am running away.

But then I feel like someone catches my hand and pulls me to someone. I am touching his chest. My leg is in the air. The other hand of that man is approaching my neck.

Who it is?

I have closed eyes right now. I do not want to see him. I am afraid to open them.

His hand on my neck is pulling my head closer to him. The other hand is on my back.

He kisses my lips.

Why did he do that?

After while this kiss felt so good and I do not know why I started to feel safe with that person. I felt so safe that my tiredness overcame me. But before I fell asleep.

'Long time no see you, Leonora.' says that person.

'Noor...' I say.

He caressed my head. Then he gives my hand into another hand.

Is it a dream? Is it a dream all that happens after the shot? I am dreaming. Please do not tell me!

But before I can think about the answer I fell asleep.
