Thomas obviously couldn't stay there forever and after just being with Remus for another 2 days we was forced to leave. He hated it. He really did. He hated the idea of any of his sides or characters getting ill or hurt. He hated not being able to do anything about it. The only good thing was the voices in the back of his head seemed to go away. That had to be a good sign right?
The answer to that was a big fat...
"What the fuck?" Remus glanced around the room wondering how on earth he got there. The last thing he remembered was coming back from dealing with the dragon witches. Everything after that was... well let's just say he couldn't remember it. He did figure out where he was though. That much was clear as day. Fear tore through him as he started to think of Patton yelling at him. He didn't know why he was in Dee's room. He didn't know how he got there but he didn't want to stick around to find out how Patton would react.
He quickly jumped out of bed tripping on the blanket as he went running out of the room only to freeze. Dee's room was directly connected to the living room just as the kitchen was. So when Remus ran out of the room at the exact moment that Patton walked out of the kitchen holding a tray of teacups, you could imagine the fear that froze the man in place.
"Remus?" Patton was shocked, to say the least. He really wasn't expecting the dark side to be up especially not standing there in front of him, but that shock immediately turned to concern seeing how frightened the other was. "Rem..."
"Lo Siento. Lo... lo siento... l-lo siento..." Remus stumbled back a bit, as the raw emotion in his voice caused Patton to drop the teacups. The sound of them shattering on the floor made the darker one flinch as he shook. "I'm sorry. I d-don't know how I g-got here. I don't know... D-Don't... I-I'm sorry."
"You're sorry? Remus, I'm sorry." Remus flinched only to freeze and get confused as Patton teared up in front of him. "I never should have yelled at you. I shouldn't have treated you the way I did. I'm so sorry Remus. Please don't blame yourself. It's not your fault. It's not..." Remus couldn't handle this. Patton being sad was to much for anyone to handle. So he did the only thing he knew how. He tried to play to the 'pun'ster in Patton and make a joke.
"What did Cinderella do when she got to the ball?" Patton's eyes narrowed as Remus shuffled back a bit. Remus was going to give the answer when Patton didn't answer but he realized real fast that it was not an appropriate joke and he clammed up. Patton noticed right away and went to say something but before he could...
"SHE GAGGED!" Roman popped up yelling out and surprising them both. "Did you get it? What did Cinderella do when she got to the ball? She gagged."
"Roman!" Roman only laughed as Patton tried to yell at him. Remus was... confused.
"How the hell.."
"It's a Disney joke, bro. Of course, I knew the answer! Like... Where is Peter Pan's favorite place to eat out?" Roman was practically jumping up and down waiting for his brother to guess. Remus knew the answer obviously. It was Wendy's. However, Remus didn't want to risk everyone getting upset at his inappropriateness so he didn't say anything. "Ok, I'll just say it. It's W..."
"Ruby Tuesdays!" Remus cried out taking another step back and shocking Roman. The lighter one's eyes went wide as Remus looked around for a way to escape.
"Remus Sanders you stop that censoring shit right now." Remus jumped as Roman stared him down. It was entirely out of concern for his brother knowing now what repression does to the man but still... It scared Remus that he had angered his brother.
"L-Lo Siento... Lo s-siento... Por favor, n-no..." Patton ran over pulling the darker one in giving him no time to adjust to the sudden contact as Patton cried into his shoulder begging him to stop apologizing. Patton doesn't know much Spanish, but he know's 'I'm sorry' when he hears it. Obviously so did Roman who practically slammed into the two, no better than Patton with his own tears completely throwing the darker one off as the awkward anxiety burned threw him as if Virgil himself decided to smack him with a red hot frying pan.
"nAiLs On A cHaLkBoArD!" The two light sides cringed violently stumbling back at the sudden mental image. "Literally like... NAIL'S NAILED TO A FUCKING CHALKBOARD!"
"Eww..." Remus spun around to find Logan standing there holding Emile, who had a grimace on his face. "Did not need that mental image, thank you." Logan only chuckled a bit but Remus was not happy. He wasn't happy because Logan cut off his escape and Remus was moments from panicking. Scratch that... The moment Roman called out to him in an attempt to calm him down Remus realized he was in fact in a full-blown panic. He knew... because he lashed out with a day terror. Everyone but Logan and Emile, who had a bit of a tolerance to it due to being part Logic, screamed out. Patton fell to his knees gripping his hair startling Logan who froze in concern for his husband but refused to move keeping Remus stuck where he was. Remus struggled to calm his breathing as he stared with wide eyes at the mess he made.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. L-Lo Siento. Lo Siento. Lo Siento."
"Remus... I-It's ok." The darker man just cried as he looked up to find a pained but reassuring smile on his brother's face. He had a hand to his temple trying really hard not to fall into the day terror. His brother needed him, and Patton needed Logan, the very same man he shot a look to before they raced over to help his husband. "Remus it's ok."
"No... N-No it's n-not. I..." Roman took a step closer forcing Remus into a corner as he tried to step away.
"Yes, it is Remus. You've done nothing wrong." Roman took another step slowly closing the distance since Remus couldn't move away. "No one here is mad at you for what happened with Virgil and me. No one here is scared or upset." Roman managed to get right in front of him still fighting off the visions replaying in his mind. They were horrible. Roman could see every side taking turns screaming and beating him, including himself, but not Remus. That along made him realize the visions were what Remus feared would happen... what his head was telling him would happen. "I promise you, Brother. NOTHING is ever going to happen to you like... I don't ever want to see you go through that again." Roman slowly and carefully reached out ignoring the flinch Remus made when his hand touched the man's arms. "Please... Don't apologize or blame yourself over something that wasn't your fault. I care too much about you to handle seeing that pain." Remus's eyes slowly got wider as Roman just smiled at him.
"Y-You what? B-But I thought you... I thought you hated..."Roman pulled his brother into a hug and it was like everything just snapped. The darker one latched on to Roman as his body shook with sobs. The Day terror slowly went away leaving Patton drained from the emotional backlash. Roman barely felt it. He was to busy trying to help his brother out. The very man who hid his vulnerability behind a wicked smile so no one knew just how easy it was for him to snap... Now if only Deceit could get back to normal. Roman knew he was going to have to break the bad news but now just wasn't the time. Remus still needed to rest.
"Come on. Let's get you back to bed." Remus didn't even bother to object. He was shakey and barely able to walk on his own so Roman helped him get to his bed, but... He didn't lay down. Remus just stared at the other bed only now noticing that it wasn't empty. Roman smiled sadly seeing what it was Remus was staring at. "He stayed with you the whole time you know. You've been asleep for quite a while and he never left."
"Thank you, Roman." Roman only nodded as he left giving his brother some space and time to sleep some more. Remus didn't sleep... at least not in his bed. As soon as His brother left Remus stumbled his way over to the little boy laying down beside him with a worried smiled. "You know Dee... You really should care for yourself..." He brushed the black bangs from the sleeping sides face noticing how dark it was around the child's eyes. "I'm not going anywhere so don't make yourself sick for me." Dee always did this. Whenever one of them was ill, Deceit would care for them forgetting about everything until they were better only making himself sick in the end. When Roman said he never left Remus understood why. Deceit started to fuss a bit but Remus pulled him in playing with his hair slightly as he sang a Spanish lullaby effectively calming the side down. "Don't worry, mi dulce engaño. Everythings going... to be... ok." Remus yawned laying his head down and letting the black tank him again. This time, however...
It was filled with pleasant dreams instead of his ever-constant nightmares.
