...If this story really were a television series...

The cameraman would tread lightly and be shooting from behind a shroud of branches and leaves.  Traffic noises in the faraway background would be stifled by the rustling as the camera moved.

The two main stars of the show would be seen from a long way off.  They'd be hand in hand and walking slowly.  The road beneath their feet is gravel and hardly any of the early twilight filters through the heavy canopy of trees.  The lead characters would be talking and the scene dotted with their long starving glances at each other.

The camera would scurry forward down the lane,  trying to catch up.  The shaky image would blur and jump until another shrub,  on the other side, could hide the lens and the man behind it.  Enough distance would have been closed in on,  the mic could now pick up Max and Tul's voices.

...

With all the stress and crazy that came from Min,  Max felt so easy with Tul.  Max started to think he might be a bad person.  Min was remarkably easy to forget with Tul around.

He didn't think about her at all when he watched Tul get dressed.  Max followed to the kitchen, Tul said he wanted to tidy up before they left.  Min never crossed his mind as Max watched Tul's bum wiggle.  Tul was scrubbing the bottom of the kitchen sink.

He found his fingers were clamped to the soapstone counter when Tul poured two glasses of ice water.  He shoved one in front of Max and then turned sideways to him.  Tul leaned his head back and poured the chilled drink down his throat.  Max watched his Adam's apple and the droplets of sweat on Tul's temple.  Min was a thousand miles away.

Max sat on one of the stools and crossed his arms on the counter in front of him.  He bent forward and rested his chin on his forearms.  Min was a distant memory when Tul reached for the top shelf of the cupboard.  His t-shirt pulled up and the band of his underwear showed above his shorts.  Tul had tiny dimples just above the cleft of his hiney.  Those dimples made him forget all the worries of the world.
