Season three opens not in Phuket, but with a pre-dawn shot at street level in Tokyo. The blackened sky pulses with heat lightning and is streaked with firey bolts that strobe night into day. It's thundering and pouring rain. The concrete runs with water. We see a lone car and a shift worker on a bike. They pass and splash on the sidewalk and at the feet of a crowd of people huddled under umbrellas. The well-dressed group is undoubtedly influenced by alcohol and most of them are on their phones calling for cabs. Several pairs break off and are seen waving at two remaining characters still clustered beneath an awning. They disappear into the haze of rain and neon.

Missing are the tropical skies and palm trees, the sparkling sands and the calming Cadet-blue of the Andaman sea. The beachy, slow pace of island life is traded for the humming and eternally awake, core of the city. The camera pans and climbs upwards on the wet face of a glass skyscraper. The floors pass by and so too the many dozens of luxury suites. Some rooms are occupied by early risers. Their lights are on and the drapes open. Others are dark, the occupant's hours already into their slumber.
The lens movement stops and frames a single hotel room. A bedside lamp is the only light. The patio door is ajar and subtle breezes move the curtains.
The focus drifts closer and the audience can eye Tul, fast asleep and fully clothed, curled up comfortably on the bed.
The background is blurred but they can see someone, a dark figure, stepping into the room.
