Tul stood in the surf-shack doorway watching Max stumble down the stairs past Riku, and into the water. He was waist-deep before he stopped. Max turned around and started running back.
Tul pulled his sunglasses off and tossed them into the seat of the deck chair beside him. Max was at the bottom of the stairs and holding out one hand. The other held Handsome.
"Come with me Tul."
'Where? What about the shop?"
"Leave it."
Max bent and spoke to Riku. Tul saw the boy nod, seemingly agreeing to something.
"Where are we going?"
"I want you to take me back to your place."

His skin was trying to crawl from his body, or at least that's how it felt to Tul.
Even with the weight of the heavy board, Max was a full stride ahead of Tul and dragging him in the sprint.
Max's shiny, damp and black hair was flying, partially because he was running, but the wind was whipping it too. He'd left so fast and without putting a shirt on. Max's shorts were still wet enough to completely show the shape of his rear.
Tul concentrated on that and did his best to keep up. His competitive side kicked in and Tul turned it into a race.
He laughed at himself, he was trying to get his keyfob from his pocket while he ran. Tul was going to have the gate open as soon as they turned onto his street.
They lost their grip on each other. Max rounded the corner first and Tul heard his shoes scrape on the pavement. He ran smack into him. "Uh, sorry Max."
Max clamped around Tul with his arm. He yanked him close. "Your dad is so amazing. Handsome, do you know what this means? I'm free. I can do whatever I want."
The sun was burning Tul's shoulders and it made him squint. "I'm happy for you Max. What are you going to do first?"
Max didn't use words to answer. He pushed his red lips closer and grazed Tul's. Max said: "This."
It felt wildly surreal to have Max's kiss again. It drenched Tul's brain with vivid memories. Max's breath and the taste of him were unchanged.
It was even better than Tul remembered. Their lips were mashed together and Max was pushing his head back with the energy of it. His tongue was alive and deep in Tul's mouth.
Max twisted his head. Their noses flicked as he changed the position. Max drew Tul's tongue in and sucked on it. He breathed through his nose, and a low rumbling sound of pleasure came from his throat.
