It was unfair that demons had to be kept apart from each other, while angels could mingle with other angels. It was unfair, discrimination in a way, and was starting to affect society harshly.
This all started millions of years ago. When angels and demons — who were also once angels — roamed the earth together in peaceful harmony. Angels and Demons used to get along. But now? The angels were putting rules and laws into play, saying any demon who fell in love with another demon would be sentenced to life behind bars or even worse, a painful death.
Why? Because once society got a grip of the whole demon and angel situation, they realized that demon couples were up to no good. But that wasn't the case for some demons out there. Some of them just wanted to live peacefully with their soulmate, their counterpart. Sure most demons had ulterior motives, but others were working to make a change in the way society saw them.
That's where you and Hyunjoon came in to play. Two young demons, eighteen and nineteen, who got caught up in the crossfire between angels and demons.
All your lives, you both had heard stories of how demons were meant to be only with demons, and angels only with angels. But now, relationships with other demons were illegal. While angels got to be with other angels. Stepping out of the safety of your homes proved that and was a constant reminder of how dangerous life was these days. Because of the stupid, ignorant laws.
"I heard they're putting up a wall." The girl tucked into the boys side whispered lowly, her smooth fingers dancing with her lovers slender rough ones. "Then they're going to drag families out of their homes and mix angels and demons together." The whole situation was unsettling, and many people would be separated. "They start tomorrow afternoon."
