"You shouldn't be here." You eyed the boy dressed in hot looking furs that kept his body warm for when he ventured deep into the snowy lands where you resides permanently.
"I know... But I wanted to come apologize." He came bearing flowers, pink roses, that long ago looked as if they had frozen as soon as he first stepped into the clearing that brought you to the wintery forest. The thought was sweet. And for a second it almost warmed your heart. But that wasn't possible in your opinion. That's how you always saw it. But now, all you saw were frozen flowers, cold and probably dying.
"Don't. I'm over it. It'll never happen again." You waved the boy off from the summer realm, his smile faltering when he tried to hand you the roses. You didn't accept them to say the least.
Yeonjun frowned, his bottom lip jutting out in a pout. "Do you think our people have put these rules into place to keep us from happiness?" You asked, turning around from the frozen over pond you had been facing with icy eyes to look over at the boy who always came back to you.
"There's a reason why the snow people aren't supposed to leave the winter realm," You interjected. "There's a reason why we don't go into the spring and summer realms. Our bodies are used to the cold, if our temperatures go any higher than they're supposed to be, we can die."
The brunette nodded, his head lowering as if he'd just been severely scolded by his parents. He was slightly ashamed and felt guilty for yesterday's mishap.
All he wanted was to make you happy. He asked you to leave your realm, not realizing the seriousness of the consequence. And when you willing left with him for the first time into the summer realm, you had a blast. You saw an ocean for the first time, saw fields of green with beautiful trees, instead of a vast frozen— over lake and snowy mountains that seemed to stretch for miles no matter how used to them you were.
But, those once in a lifetime moments were short lived and only but a once and a lifetime thing. Because about an hour in you began feeling violently sick. Yeonjun had explained to you that people in his realm could get heat stroke if extremely dehydrated and exposed to too much heat at once for long periods of time, but it was rare since they were used to it. But as soon as he told you that you might've been suffering from a heat stroke or heat exhaustion, you knew you shouldn't have come here. No matter how beautiful, serene and hot it was.
For you though, your body reacted to the heat very quickly. You began sweating, feeling faint, and nauseous, things you had never felt before unless sick, but even then it rarely happened. It was serious when your eyes started feeling drowsy and your mind felt extremely cloudy, it became hard to focus on things and all together was hard to stand upright. Yeonjun eventually brought you back to the forest, and sat on the opposite side of the snowy land where you had laid, trying to regain yourself.
He felt guilty, extremely guilty. You could've ultimately died because of him, all because he wanted to spend time with you. Wanted you to be happy and see the ocean, wanted you to hold his hand and laugh together.
Yeonjun nodded, realizing his greedy behavior earlier was uncalled for. "I get that now. I shouldn't have asked you to leave your realm. I just— I wanted to spend time with you." You understood him completely and didn't necessarily blame him either. You shouldn't have listened and allowed him to persuade you to leave. That was your field for knowing the consequences and still doing it knowing what might happen. It was selfish of you as well.
Nodding in agreement, you sorrowfully muttered, "You're different than any other boy I've met." Looking at him broke your heart, especially since you truly did have feelings for the sweet, warm hearted boy. "But sadly this cannot continue." You cooly interjected.
"I'll come here. I'd do it for you." "I know you would. But I'm asking you not too." He didn't like that answer, proved so by the disappointment written all over his face.
"If you keep coming here, it'll just prompt me to want to leave later on down the road. I get attached far too quickly, and in time I know I'd do anything for you. Like leave my realm again, which is dangerous."
"So we have to end things here."
"I won't give up on you."
"You're persistent." You said with a chuckle.
"I am. Now you know that. I'll come back, and leave you frozen roses everyday if I have too."
