"Are you stupid?!"

"I'm sorry! I neede—"

"Why did you do that!" His hands placed roughly on your shoulders, slightly shaking you, as an angry expression crossed his face. "Now you're going to die too! Why would you do that, Y/n!?" Desperation along with little pools of salty tears filled his dark eyes, and all you could do was stare at the man you loved with apologetic eyes.

He was terrified, more terrified than he'd ever let you see before, and now he was slipping through the cracks, whether or not if he wanted to show this weak side of him or not.

"Don't worry!" You found yourself interjecting, taking a step forward in hopes of reassuring the young prince that everything would be fine after the kiss you'd just initiated. "I'm fine." You were about to do some type of childish spin in a circle to prove to him how fine you really were but when you felt his hand wrap around your wrist, you knew he wasn't happy about what had just happened. For many reasons.

Youngjo immediately released your hand after realizing what he was doing was wrong and took a quick step back, as if being close to you gave off some infectious disease your die from. The dark haired heir muttered, "No you're not." You knew he was pissed... The young prince was pissed, and frankly, you didn't know how to calm him down. Not right now at least. He just needed to blow some steam off and then he'd realize you just helped him out.

Before you knew it, his back was to you and he was storming off towards the garden doors that lead into the palace, like an angry tornado.

"Come back!" You screeched.

"I just— I had to do it, alright!? I just saved you a lifetime of misery and loneliness." He didn't stop as he kept going, but without a doubt he could still beat you because he responded coldly with, "And you just killed yourself."

-

You just killed yourself.

That kept ringing in your ears as you sat by the river, realizing what you did would become an issue later on.

You didn't regret it. Of course not. Not even as you found yourself coughing up blood every now and then. You would never regret it, not in your lifetime or any other lifetime you happened to end up in sequentially.

But he was right. You did kill yourself, you were killing yourself slowly. Now it was just a waiting game.

But you were confused. You loved him, and true loves kiss could break whatever curse had been placed on your lover. So why hadn't it worked? Had he not loved you as much back? Or had he even loved you at all... that was the real question.
After leaving Youngjo, you went back home. Seeing as he didn't want anything to do with you, at least for the time being. To say the least, when you got home, your mother wasn't too impressed with your reckless and selfish behavior after learning of what you did while away.

"Why'd you have to go and do that, Y/n..." Your mother scolded quietly from beside you. Her tone wasn't in the form of a question like you would've first assumed. But instead, it matched a way of scolding.

"I know, I know," you whined. "But I couldn't leave him like that. He needed to know I loved him. He deserves happiness." You explained to the older woman who was incredibly displeased.

"You do as well!" Her voice raised, form coming to sit beside you on the grassy field by the glistening, fast flowing river.

"He is my happiness. I know he thinks the same. He's just— having a hard time coming to the terms of it."

Your mother just nodded silently, knowing both that she couldn't argue with you and that it wasn't her place to tell you not to love the troubled man. Sure, it'd always come from a place of worry, but if it truly wasn't that, she had no right to speak. And in this moment, she necessarily wasn't worried, more angry than anything. She concealed it well though.

"Why isn't it working?" You whispered to yourself, eyes not leaving the moving river in front of you, truly astonished that the kiss hadn't worked like you thought in the beginning.

Truthfully, you didn't know what you thought would happen. Maybe he'd kiss you back or tell you things were fine now. You really did not know. But now you didn't know anything besides you were dying.
Your mouth opened and you found yourself asking, "Why am I still dying?"

Your mothers eyes couldn't find your own. She'd start crying, she would break even more, and she didn't want you to see her like that. She'd been strong for you your whole life. She was a strong woman who raised two children on her own, all the while still holding the respectful title of Queen in Xiolyn. In your eyes, she deserved to break down for once, but she wouldn't ever allow that side of her to show in front of you at least.

"He has to learn to forgive himself," she explained. "He has to accept what happened in the past, to be able to fix what's going on right now."

"I think he'll come around." You interjected.
The only way Youngjo could come around was if he forgave himself, and with a man who had so much guilt for originally something he hadn't done or had any control over, it would be especially hard for him to change his mind and come out of that dark place he'd been in for years. Up until now, he had been living with these secrets alone. But you pried your way into his life and wanted to know anything and everything like a curios schoolgirl.

"Y/n, why do you get yourself into these problems?" The Queen couldn't help but sigh and scoff.

"I'm a curios virus mom, you know I can't help it." A small disarming smile appeared on your lips. Your mother didn't like the sounds of you saying you were a virus, it didn't sit well with her.

"Don't say things like that. He'll over come this. You both will."
