* Inside Sisters of Mercy *

"Should you be doing this?" Cassandra grunted in pain with each step that we helped her take.

"I'm.. I'm okay." I hummed, wanting to help somewhat fix the mess that I helped create.

If it wasn't for me, she'd be healed and better already. I shouldn't have been so rough in my sleep.

"Are you sure you can help her?" I asked the quiet 'nurse', who's back was to me as she wrote symptoms, formulas, or whatever else down on a piece of clean paper.

Paper was stacked in two cubbyholes of the desk while a small stack was under the piece of paper she was writing on. To the left, under the flat part of the desk, there was a drawer filled with pens and other writing material.

Where did they find all these supplies in good shape? The desk, the bed that Cassandra occupied, and the nightstand was the only furniture inside the bedroom. Antiques and other decorative things were spread around the room to give it a homey-feeling.

Cassandra's 'hospital bed' was in the center of the room, facing the only exit and entrance. Two windows were on either side of the bed. The desk filled with notes, paper, pens, and other things was to the right of Cassandra.

"We grow everything here; from the food to the medicine. We have cows to make penicillin. Amy makes it herself." Helen proudly stated conditions of their resort and staff.

Alright, I get that you've got such an upgrade here than outside in the apocalypse, but how is she in the doctoring department? Amy may be able to do it, but is she actually good at it?

"She use to be a chemist." Helen tried to add to our conscious about how good this woman actually was.

How long has this establishment been standing? Who started this place? Helen seemed capable, but she had to have help in all this. Warren and I wrapped our arms around Cassandra's bicep and helped her scoot up to the headboard of the bed.

I made sure the pillow was comfortably in between her and the hard, brown wood of the headboard.

"You need to stop before you open up the wounds." Cassandra warned, but I ignored her warning.

I came around the other side of the bed and sat down at her feet. I was in between her and the makeshift 'nurse' of the room. Warren and Helen walked out of the room to discuss other matters.

A beautiful brunette walked through the open glass doors after them.

"Hi, I'm Amy." She smiled, shining us her pearly whites.

Do they make their own toothpaste, too? Wait, who's that woman writing stuff down?

"What can do I do for you?" She asked, looking down at me.

I crossed my arms over my chest like that would hide the bandages around my wrists.

Still, I nudged my head towards the dark haired friend beside me, "She has a severe infection on her thigh."

"And she needs stitches." Cassandra butt-in the conversation, acting like the child that liked to speak out against her parent's wishes.

"Alright, well, I'm going to tend to you first, okay?" Amy asked, walking in front of me.

"Uh, a-actually, why can't she go first? She's in pain."

"Dear, if you need stitches, you need to be operated on first. If we don't get you closed up, you'll get an infection and be in her shape, or worse, you'll lose too much blood. Come on."
