She brought her knees to her chest, noticing how shaky they were from all the adrenaline that coursed through her small body. After breathing out air, she wrapped her arms around her legs. Not once did her eyes leave (Y/N)'s resting form, not wanting to look away from her now.

Mack's gone from this world, she kept repeating it to herself.

He spent his whole life protecting this one singular person. He never failed to keep her breathing. Addy fell in love with Mack years ago, but she also fell for (Y/N).

Both loves happened at different times and they're both different from the other. That was now her little sister. It was her time to protect the last Thompson; she had her own mission now.

The Next Day || 7 A.M.

The next morning, Warren still hadn't come back from her watch post, which wasn't too unusual for her. Vasquez was the first to wake up, feeling the need to get up and move around. Over the years of the apocalypse, his system has a new way of living, surviving.

All of their bodies had adjusted to this world, and it would be hard to go back to the old them. His eyes crackled open, the morning sun being the beholder of light once again. Another day, another survival course.

He looked above at the sky first, seeing the darkness fade into something a little more brighter. He remembered that his daughter loved to see the sunrise on beaches. He did too for awhile. The truck creaked beneath his body as he sat up on the warming metal.

His first view after sitting up fell on to (Y/N). She had her right arm swung over 10K's chest as he laid flat on his back. His right arm was stuck between their two bodies while his left hand held onto the arm she had slung across his chest.

He knew that the two were a couple, it was hard to miss the longing looks the two would give each other. He assumed that they were high school, or college, sweethearts when the apocalypse had broke out.

If they weren't a couple, then he knew for a fact that (Y/N) had a humongous crush on the sniper. The thought made him smirk to himself. Their relationship reminded him of his wife. Vasquez popped his back, knocking out any stiffness that had formed before turning his head.

Addy laid beside him, her leather jacket covering from the top of her chest to the middle of her stomach. Her arms must've been crossed beneath the thick material of the leather, keeping her body temperature secured.

She snored lightly into the morning air, dreaming about the darkness that was absorbing her heart. Carefully, Vasquez moved to settle on top of his knees. He reached over and grabbed the boot of (Y/N).

He began to shake her body, noticing how her right thigh had jiggled with his movements until it finally disturb her sleep. When she first opened her eyes, they immediately landed on 10K's resting face before falling downwards.

Unwrapping her arm from 10K's chest, she slowly began to sit up. A yawn broke pass her chapping lips as she stretched her back out. She thought the world of 10K letting her touch him, but she also realized that he was probably asleep too when she had done it.

Her knuckles rubbed against the lids of her soft (E/C) , trying to rush the process of waking up.

"What?" She whispered to Vasquez, noticing that Warren wasn't back yet.

"Come on, it's time for you to train."

He stood up from the position he once slept in, hopping over the side of the gates so he wouldn't risk waking the other two up.

'Train?' (Y/N) wondered in her head, not understanding what he meant by that.

What would he possibly want to train her to do? When she stood from where she had slept, a warm grasp wrapped around her ankle. Not too startled by the touch, she looked down.
