(Y/N) snatcher her fingers back from the skin of 10K the second she heard her guardian's question as if Warren had scowled her for touching another man that wasn't her brother. 10K followed the movements (Y/N) had done, but he was a little less panicked than her.
He didn't care if he got in trouble for touching her. He didn't care if he got punched by Mack when he touched (Y/N). Why? He wouldn't be able to answer that, but it felt right whenever he held onto her or grabbed her hand.
The way the young girl stared up into his irises made him stop his movements halfway before bringing his hand into his lap, refusing to touch her in case she didn't feel the same about his grasp.
He sure as hell didn't want to make her uncomfortable; they've been making progress with how close they've become. He ignored the thump in his chest, and the way tickling sensations was vibrating from his lip and chin.
All of these weird feelings were in the exact places she had touched him. Tickles where her thumb had swiped to remove the excessive blood almost made him believe she never felt his skin.
Where 10K had touched her neck tingled with prickling sensation, confusing her about so many emotions.

I watched the back of 10K's shirt scrunch up as he crawled out of the wrecked vehicle once our limbs had stopped touching the other. What was that? Why do I still feel his hand on my neck?
I cleared my throat as if that would make me forget the moment we just shared, confused at what just happened to us. I'm just mixed up from the accident. I shook my head, shaking the thoughts and theories out of my processing.
I crawled to exit right behind him once he was out completely. With the help of the vehicle's side, I stood up for what felt like the first time in days. It shouldn't have been days, though.
I looked out of entrance we had came through to get inside the tunnel, finding odd material floating outside. The ashes of something fell to the dark asphalt road with nothing but silence and whiteness.
Pieces of whatever this was drifted inside the tunnel, but it didn't even come close to where we were at.
"Is that snow?" I questioned what I considered to be ashes, confuse to what it could have came from.
I've seen snow a couple of times in my life when I lived in New York, but I don't remember the liquid coming down in a setting like this. It's still humid outside, not even cold. It's not even cloudy outside.
"Nah, that's not snow. That's ash." Warren confirmed my suspicion, "Radioactive fallout."
"Shit." I muttered, hoping we wouldn't get even more radiation poisoning in our system.
I doubt we have any iodide, the pill Amelia had passed out to us when we were first introduced to radioactive zombies.
"Grab what you can, and let's head out of here." Warren commanded, handing Doc over to 10K so she could help me scavenge for what wasn't too damaged.
"Finding Murphy, again?" I asked, not knowing if she still wanted to purse this mission still.
I mean, what are we really going to do? We can't desert Doc; he's still in pain. We can't separate, not yet anyway. It just wouldn't feel right to me. On the other hand, Murphy did leave us without considering how we'd fair with the missiles he had triggered.
And he didn't even explain how he got to control Cassandra like she was his puppet.
"Finding Murphy." Warren confirmed the mission's goal.
Her soldier side always came out when it came to tracking down Murphy, who always got away somehow. If Warren begins a mission, she will finish it with all she's got or die trying to.
• • Two or Three Days Later • •
It's been a couple of days since we had all woken up from the car accident. I've lost count but I know it's been more than two days. The night we left from the crash site, we had located an outlet of stores.
There wasn't that many Zs to contain, but we had to break a lot of windows. Warren suggested we get more clothes, or a change of clothing, since it'd be getting cold soon. I picked out a black long sleeve shirt that hooked over my thumbs, covering my knuckles.
With the greatest honor of all, I got to take off the jeans that were getting too tight. I tucked my shirt inside the new pair of black jeans I had found in the Junior section of TJ Maxx. The only downfall with this pair is they're ripped at the thighs.
I can't seem to get away from ripped jeans. To ensure I don't catch the usual winter colds or diseases, Warren made me wear a size too big, black and red button up shirt over my long sleeve. I rolled up the sleeve part on the button up shirt so I wouldn't over heat.
I kept the same pair of socks since there wasn't any holes and the same pair of combat boots as well. I grabbed a pair of fuzzy socks in case things got cold too quickly, and we wouldn't be able to find another outlet store.
10K offered to hold the purple and black pair for me since I didn't have a bag. Speaking of 10K, he still refused to take his piece of clothing from me, so I have it wrapped around the bottom half of my face; from the bridge of my nose to the bottom of my neck.
Now, we were located in an area that had zero buildings, absolutely no humans, and barely any Zs (to 10K's dismay). I'm thankful for the last two things. We've had to sleep outside in the open a couple of times, but either 10K or Warren stayed up to watch over the rest of us.
Doc's not doing too hot with the wound on his shoulder. The bleeding come and goes; it especially comes when he moves it more than needed. We haven't had any luck of finding, at least, fishing string to stitch up the bullet wound.
If we could just find a thick enough string, I'm sure I could stitch him up better. We climbed up the steep hill with Warren ahead of us, scouting out. We were beginning to enter what looked to be a junk yard for ruined vehicles.
Cars and trash pieces from the broken vehicles dirtied the ground and from the looks of it, this whole disaster covered miles of land. Doc limped weakly between 10K and I as we helped him continue forward.
We had his hurt arm wrapped around my shoulders since I was shorter than him while 10K had Doc's good arm wrapped around his broad shoulders.
"Here, let's sit you down for a minute." I suggested without asking for Warren's permission, feeling exhaustion began to wash over me.
