Yet, it wasn't very characteristic of him to keep his mouth shut for too long, "Will there be snacks?"
Once again, that sent the two men overboard into laughter.
Doc leaned onto the experimental subject, arm wrapped around his stomach as he laughed in complete content, "Munchies!"
I shook my head faster when I realized just how doped up they were; what were they smoking in that car to make them this bad? Sam walked away after Doc's comment, shaking his head in disapproval.
I don't blame him, not one bit. Warren shook her head in disappointment as well, turning around on the heel of her combat boot. When I turned around, I half expected 10K to already be in the little metal cage, since, ya know, he likes to be prepared for everything.
Instead, when I whipped around he stood behind me, looking down on me. I looked up at him with a neutral look, seriously not expecting the close range of his body.
"I wonder who gave Doc and Murphy the idea to get high."
"Wrecking Ball."
"Exactly." I agreed with him completely.
Murphy and Doc can get into trouble, yes, but I know for a fact that Doc ran out of his happy grass months ago and Murphy wouldn't have waited until now to use something to induce dopamine.
Once I had agreed with him and the conversation was over, he turned his back to me and hopped over the side of the eagle's nest. I wonder what turned 10K into a professional sniper.
Was it his dad? Was it a self interest that he could fulfill in the apocalypse? I walked over to the right side of the trailer since Vasquez had taken over the left side.
"(Y/N)."
I turned my whole body around to look back at 10K, who stuck his arm out from in between the bars. His hand signaled for me to come closer to him, which I obeyed immediately.
"If the ride gets too bumpy, hold these."
When my hand reached his, he leaned back some to place my hand on the warm metal. I nodded my head, smiling at how caring he's become towards me. We're getting somewhere with this friendship, I can feel it.
It makes me feel satisfied with the apocalypse for the first time since the whole event had taken place. 10K's proof that anyone can be welcoming when it comes to one certain person. Warren hopped onto the trailer with no help, staying in between Vasquez and I but seemed to favor his side of the platform.
The semi jerked forward as Sam began progress towards the sanctuary. I grabbed the bars 10K had instructed, letting my body leaning forward and backwards with the transportation. Not too bad.
I had an uneasy feeling grow inside my stomach when I looked over the hills. I saw nothing but wasn't that the point for the new mutants Zs? Not wanting to be seen by it's preys?

I was tired from standing up and ready to take a nap by the time the next obstacle was presented in front of us. On either side of the semi-truck there laid a crime scene. A handful of cars were lit on fire from the destruction.
I think it was a truck that was laid on it's side, it's underneath design being shown to us as a fire lit from the inside. Bodies laid out on top of the wreckage or beside it. But all the bodies had one thing in common.
Their faces were ripped open and their brain was completely gone. I almost gagged at the sight of blood running from the ripped hole as some brain matter was like crumbs from a sandwich made in the middle of the night.
