Big mistake for them and, maybe, for us. You give Murphy attention once and it's game over for your ears.

"Brother, you don't know the half of it." Murphy joked around, taking a swing from the small cup they provided.

They seriously don't know half of the shit we've been through, along with what Murphy's emotionally and physically had to take on. Henry was quick to fill his drink back to the rim. Too quick.

No, no. You are fine. They seem fine. They're more.. pleasant than the last people we encountered. At least they don't want to take away any of our team members. If Warren is drinking it, then it's more likely okay.

She was in the military. She has military training. She can sense bad voodoo miles away. If Murphy is continuously drinking it and not having a seizure, I guess everything checks out. I just need to chill out.

"Come on, Murphy. No one wants to hear your war stories." Warren smiled, trying to give Murphy a hint about shutting up for once.

So, is she wary of them now? Well, I mean, I think if anyone found out about him being immune, they'd take him and do whatever to get the vaccine for themselves. Maybe she doesn't trust them enough.

I looked over at 10K, watching him tilt his head back. The swallow of the alcohol made his Adam's apple jump before settling back down in the original position. Can't lie, Adam's apples are cute.

"They asked." Murphy shrugged it off like him being the savior is nothing anymore.

He took another shot from the glass. He took another drink; everything is fine. I'm just.. scared. And 10K told me that it's not okay to show I'm scared. If they see it, I could offend them and ruin everything for us.

Pushing all of the cons that I've conjured together and all the mixed emotions about these people, I grabbed the transparent glass and tilted my head backwards. Hell's water glided against my dry tongue, burning every taste bud in it's path.

My taste buds were the forest and a wild fire was erupting, because I just couldn't help but set a fire inside of my mouth. The burning sensation didn't stop at my tongue, though. The fire ran around crazy until I swallowed the heated liquid.

As I brought the empty glass back down on the table--making sure I didn't slam it--, I could still feel the liquid in the middle of my chest. It felt like if I opened up my mouth, the smoke from off of the flames would come out of my mouth.

Jesus. What is this stuff?

"I'd love to hear it." Brett encouraged to hear our little dirty secret.

Of course he would. Janice filled my drink back up before I could even blink. No effects from the first shot. That's good, right? Murphy looked over at Warren to throw her a smug look. His smirk only grew as he began to unbutton the dirty grey shirt from his chest.

Why is he acting like this? What did Warren do to him? Does he actually think that she's jealous they're giving all of their attention to him? Yeah, right. Gasps from the three newbies spread around the room, which wasn't surprising at all.

I think I took the fact that I was traveling around with the vaccine better than most people. Henry stepped closer to Murphy while Brett just leaned closer to study the bites. Janice had scooted her chair back away from the zombie-infected human.

"Those look like zombie bites." Henry stated, figuring out that these were the 'war stories' Murphy wouldn't shut up about.

I looked over at Warren as she studied their faces and movements carefully. She's looking for any signs of wanting to kill Murphy or any threatening looks. Murphy may be half human, but that zombie side?
