I was jogging, or sometimes resorted to running, ahead of them to ensure their safety while they skipped to reach our exit. There were barely any Zs after the Jolly Green Giant, thank goodness. When we reached the entrance cubicles, we were all panting as if we suffered from asthma and had just forced ourselves to hike a steep hill.

I swung the metallic, holed door open, letting the wounded, Warren and 10K step in first. I followed directly behind them, slamming the gates shut myself. I let Warren press the lever back to reach our next exit.

"Look."

10K's voice caught our attention, making us look down at his squatted form. We began to rise in the air, cutting our worries in half. Our sharp shooter was bent in the corner, holding some kind of material in front of his face.

It looked like snake skin, but how could a snake have possibly gotten in here?

"Is that all that's left of Murphy?" Warren questioned the material's origin, sounding like she didn't believe her own words.

Murphy's skin? Like, his actual flesh? I tilted my head, confused at her assumptions. Human's don't shed, but I mean, let's face facts. Zombies are now a real deal, bears become more aggressive when bitten, and babies are fast little jokers when turned.

Let's not take away all possibility that aliens are now real, either.

"Keep it." Doc sounded drowsy, catching my attention faster than 10K's voice did, "Make some awesome boots out of that."

I took a step in front of Doc, examining his eyes for any sign of death or I have no clue. All I know is, he's talking but barely walking. Blood was still oozing from the wound on his chest, or maybe it was his shoulder.

Either way, it needed to be addressed before any infection or he loses too much blood. We finally reached the top of the shed, running out of the elevator's crappy door once I opened it up for them.

There was no more Zs and no more van. He didn't even wait for us?!

"Where's Murphy?" I asked, hoping I was just going blind and Murphy was sitting somewhere, waiting for our arrival.

"Where's the van?" 10K asked, not worried about our comrade.

Beside where the van was suppose to be stationed, there was a nice looking, black Tahoe just sitting there, begging for our taking.

"Come on, let's take this."

Refusing to argue with a nuclear bomb right up our asses, we willingly followed her to the vehicle. I took over Warren's side so she could be getting in the driver. You never know if they left the key inside the ignition, hid it somewhere, or took it with them.

To make sure we don't waste too much time, it was easier to just let her do this while I helped Doc. I helped walk Doc to behind the driver's door and left to go on the opposite end. With the assistance of 10K and a little bit of Doc's limbs, we finally got him laying across the back seats.

I got off of the floorboard and straddled over Doc's stomach, hovering so blood wouldn't gush out of the bullet wound. I removed the weapon from my shoulder, feeling relieved as the weight was removed.

I placed the object on the floorboard, where I was once sitting. 10K rounded the side of the vehicle to take over the passenger seat. Alright, let's get this show on the road.

"Come on, Doc." I mumbled to myself and to encourage him.

I placed my already red stained palms on top of the damaged cloth, a weak attempt to stop further bleeding.

"Cassandra?" 10K spoke up as Warren began to put the vehicle in reverse.

Due to the Coronavirus (I want some people to get their minds off of this distasteful period for a few minutes and relax) and the fact I only had two more chapters to go until S1 was complete, I decided to go ahead and finish up this season. Yes, I will be going on to S2. To prepare for my final exams, breathe before graduating, and to just give myself a break, I won't be continuing this story until April 1. I will come back better than ever and will continue on the story until the very end!
Please wash your hands, allow the elderly some time to grab their necessities, respect the people who came before you, and please-please, be safe out there. You are loved, you are cared for. While we wait for S2, I'll be editing S1 to ensure future readers get the best quality.

I love you guys and I can't wait for April! <3
