When 10K's eyes turned to look at me, they lit up like the radiation on the Zs. I closed my eyes, not wanting to see the damage that I would be doing as my finger pressed down onto the trigger.

A loud 'BANG!' pierced my eardrums and pushed my body back an inch or two from where I was originally sitting down at.

"(Y/N)!" Murphy shouted from behind me.

Hesitantly, I cracked my eyes open to see 10K staring behind him at the radioactive Z I had just killed. I threw the shotgun down beside me and hastily crawled to 10K's still figure. I grabbed his shoulders, knowing he'd turn towards me once I touched him.

I removed both of my hands from his shoulders to grab his cheeks. Not-so-gently, I tilted his head up-and-down, side-to-side, examining every angle and inch of his pretty face.

"Holy Jesus. Are you okay?" I asked, staring into his wide hazel doe eyes.

Did I scare him? I know I scared myself. Did I hurt him? There's no scratches, but I could've hurt his eardrums. Our eyes were connected, staring back at the other person. My breathing stopped itself from panting while his stayed the same steady pace.

Is he mad?

"(Y/N)! 10K! Everything okay?" Murphy questioned from below us again.

Oh, shit! My eyes matched his own wide ones when I realized that I was actually touching the sharp shooter's face. We were literally inches away from each other; close enough for our carbon dioxide to mix with the other.

Oh, shit! He's really going to be mad now.

"Second rule, do not ever close your eyes when shooting anything." 10K muttered, still keeping his eyes on me but has yet to push me off of him.

"We-We're okay!" I shouted back, deciding to move away and not further embarrass myself in front of 10K.

Movement from behind the fence caught my attention since it was running instead of the slight stumble the Z's were doing. The group. Forgetting about my little mishap with the shotgun, I jogged down the hill to help Murphy open up the gate for the survivors.

"They're back." Amelia said into the radio so her father would be a little relaxed that someone was there with his daughter if things went south.

"I'm almost to the control room."

Murphy and I shut the metal gate just in time. A Z woman fell into the fence, her fingers almost grazing mine.

"Great." Amelia praised her father, "Keep going, dad!"

The man sounded weak, weaker than what he was before he went in there. I could only imagine what his face looks like now. I don't know much about radiation, but I know the body can only take small amounts of it.

Even then, there will be deadly consequences. The suit is the only reason he hasn't absorb more into his body. His side of the communication device went silent. We all awaited further instructions and reassurance.

After ten minutes, Murphy grabbed all of our attention with his voice.

"Hey, here he comes."

The man was limping away from a horde of Zs that continuously tried to reach and grab him. 10K moved to clear the rest of the way with his sniper rifle. I wouldn't have wasted my bullets. Soon, he'll be just like them.

Cassandra and Doc open up the gate for him to go to Amelia. His daughter pushed pass me to grab her father, who was falling to the ground.

"Dad!"
