Ryes pov
When Katie walked out my dad sat on my bed
Dad: I really like her
I smiled slightly and nodded
Dad: look Rye I'm sorry I snapped at you I didn't mean anything I was upset
I looked up
Rye: about what
He stayed silent
Rye: dad tell me
Dad: Shaun's checkup they found that there is something on his brain
I looked up tears already in my eyes
Rye: is he going to die
He just looked at me and out his hand held my shoulder I stood up and walked out
Rye: Sammie, Shaun lets go
They both came running to me
Rye: shoes on we are going to get ice cream
They smile and run to get their shoes on I looked at Katie
Rye: you coming
She nods and gets her shoes on I smile sadly and look down my dad put his hand on my shoulder I smiled slightly and walked out it wasn't a long walk
Katie: is everything ok Rye
I looked at her a nod I then looked at the twins and how much fun they were having and me mum and dad are the only one who knows that that's going to an end we got into the ice cream store and got our ice cream and sat down I smiled at everyone but deep down emotions were ripping me apart I lost myself in my thoughts
Katie: Rye....Ryan
I looked up
Rye: yeah what's wrong
Katie: are you sure you're ok
I nod
Katie: Rye
I kissed her cheek
Rye: I'm fine
She sighs and looks away we finish our ice cream and leave
Rye: what next guys
Sammie: can we go back home
I nod and we walk back as soon as we walked back in me and Katie ran back to my room she sits on the bed and looks out the window I sit next to her
Katie: you're so lucky
Rye: what do you mean
Katie: you have a perfect family who care for you and parents who don't expect much from you, you have brothers who care for you
She said looking down I felt bad
Katie: the only person who really cares for me is my nana my brother doesn't even speak to me and obviously I lost Lewis and he cared for me so much and now he's gone
Rye: your brother?
Katie: yeah I have more siblings I have 2 brothers and a sister
Rye: oh
Katie: they left when Lewis died
I looked at her
Rye: I care my mum cares my dad cares Sammie, Shaun and Robbie care Ben cares
She looked at me and smiled slightly I kissed her lightly and she smiled then frowned
Katie: Rye what are we?
Rye: I ummm I don't know... I can't date you
She nodded she looked sad
Katie: ok
Rye: Katie I-
Katie: it's fine Rye honestly I knew someone like you could never be with someone like me
She laughed
Rye: no it's not like that
Katie: Rye it's fine don't worry about it I understand I was stupid to think i had a chance
She then stood up and grabbed her bag
Katie: I'll see you at school Ryan
