After spending twelve whole days by Bellamy's side, Clarke and him had decided to spend a few days apart since Bellamy was needed out of town and Clarke wasn't feeling herself.
Clarke stepped outside, leaving him with a delicate kiss on his cheek as she stood in the doorway to his house.

"Are you sure you don't want me to drive you, it's no worry." Bellamy insisted for the last time.

"It's fine, I could use the fresh air." Clarke hummed, her had gently caressing his cheek.

"Are you sure?" Bellamy queried, noting how she hadn't exactly been well this past week. He blamed himself for allowing Clarke to hang out with Octavia, who was in her final stages of the flu.

"I'm fine, stop worrying." Clarke hummed.

"Ugh, I can't believe how much I'm going to miss you." Bellamy groaned, intertwining his fingers in with hers as they rested on his cheek.

"Bellamy, you'll be gone for two days. It's not like you'll never see me again." Clarke laughed gently as the two stared into each others eyes.

"I know but, seeing you everyday was starting to grow on me.." he huffed, scratching the back of his neck as he kissed her palm. He wasn't lying, walking into his bedroom every night and seeing her sitting on his bed, waiting for him, it was like a dream come true.
It wasn't too different for Clarke either, she would wait for him in his oversized shirts as he brought in some cheap dinner he made for the two of them, and they'd sit up for hours talking.
Being a part for even two days was becoming such an unfamiliar feeling.

"Yeah, I guess I'll miss you, too." Clarke shrugged, followed by Bellamy's gently chuckle as his hand slid around the back of her neck and pulled her in for a kiss. His lips were soft, and his breathing shallow as they held for a few seconds.
"Call me when you get there, okay?" Clarke said the second they parted, wanting to ensure he would be safe going to and fro the airport.

"Okay, I will." Bellamy smiled as Clarke waved him off as she began walking down the stairs of his house.
Bellamy had to go to the airport to pick up his father, who'd left less than a week prior to welcome back surviving war hero's.
The airport was seemingly a century away, nearly a days drive there and back and since Finn drove Marcus there, it was Bellamy's turn to pick him up. Needless to say, Finn thought it would be the perfect time to spend time with Clarke in private.

Clarke began her journey home, stopping by the familiar park on the way to her house. It was only a few blocks up the road, and given it being 2:25 in the afternoon, it was virtually empty, except for the swings.
On the swings sat a girl, long flowing brown hair as she gently rocked back and fourth.

It caught Clarke's eye, she had full intent of passing her, but she seemed oddly familiar.
Clarke's heart being too big for her won chest, she diverted off her path and into the park in hopes of speaking with the girl.
Upon closer inspection, the girls head being bowed, a few drops of blood lay on her pant leg by her knee. Clarke's brows raised at this as she mustered up the courage to greet her.

"Hey." Her voice soft and humble as the girls eyes slowly drifted up to her.

"Hi?" The girl responded, seeming confused as her eyes met with Clarke.
Clarke's attention snapped from the girl and to the looming black eye and wet cut across her cheek.

"I noticed you were sitting here alone, I.. I wanted to make sure you're okay."

"I'm fine." The girl paused, rolling her eyes as she straightened her back.
"What's it to you, anyway?"

"I.. I recognise you, your Lexa from my math class?" Clarke called, stepping over and taking a seat on the swings beside her.

"Yeah.." Lexa replied, a confused look plastered on her face. "Why are you here."

"I told you, I just wanted to make sure you're okay.."

"Bullshit." Lexa exclaimed, much to Clarke's surprise.

"Are you sure, the park is usually empty-"

"I don't need your help, okay. I'm fine on my own."

Clarke stayed silent for a second, trying to string together any form of words she could in hopes of befriending this girl.
"Why are you being such an ass." Not her smoothest, I'd admit.

"Excuse me."

"I'm here, trying to be friendly, cause you look like you could use one and you're repaying me with this." Clarke stated, stepping off the swing and facing the girl. She seemed a lost for words, having not expected Clarke's reaction.

"I just-" she paused, "I'm just not having a good day.." Lexa's eyes wandered.

"I can tell..." Clarke replied, "I.. I'm not trying to be mean." Clarke explained, "you just look like you could use a friend is all."

"I don't need anyone."

Clarke chuckled lightly, "I bet." She nodded, taking in Lexa's wound. "Here, I've got a few bucks do you want to share some nachos?" Clarke asked as she gestured to the cruddy park vendor who was setting up his food truck.

"I.. I'm fine."

"Okay, well I'm buying them anyway." Clarke shrugged, wandering away and purchasing the snack, along with a few drinks to go with it.
She made her way back to the swing set and sat on the soft, rubber flooring before Lexa, setting the drinks out.

"I didn't know if you wanted a coke or water so I just got both." Clarke explained, the girls fingers untangling from the chains of the swing as she slowed down and sat on the floor.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" Lexa hummed as Clarke passed her the drinks.
Clarke's mind flashing back to two weeks ago when she'd asked Bellamy the very same thing, a smile flashing to her lips in response.

"Sometimes we just need there to be a few good guys." Clarke smiled, gesturing for her to take some of the cheap nachos.
