So far the night was going well.
Clarke was still distracted, everyone knew she was thinking about Bellamy. A glass of wine in the three girls hands as the kids were off with Clarke's family.

"I just, I don't know." Raven said, unsure, "what do you think?" She asked, the girls attention drifting to Clarke.

"Clarke." Octavia Called, shaking her shoulder.

"Hmm?"

"Where have you been?" Asked Raven, lowering her drink to study her friend.

"I.. right here?" She weakly laughed, masking her pain.

"No.. you haven't.." Octavia sighed, spinning her drink as she took another sip. "I know.. I know what Bellamy has done is wrong but.. you don't need him" she sighed, looking away from the girls as she again sipped her drink.

"I know. I know I don't, I don't need anyone but my kids." She sighed. "But.. it's the same way I need you guys.. I love you girls." Clarke smiled, shrugging.

"We love you too." Raven hummed as the girls quickly pulled each other in for a hug.

"Now. How are you and Finn doing?" Octavia cooed as the conversation quickly sparked back to life.

"You saw the bike in my driveway, right?" Raven added, giggling as Clarke's mind trailed off again.
The pain she felt in her chest was indescribable, she tried to hide that pain with alcohol, wanting to be there for her friends. She looked to them, then her pictures on the wall, and took a deep sip of her drink.

The girls stopped their conversation, seeing  Clarke swim to the bottom of her cup then pulling it from her lips with a sigh. "Bottoms up?" She croaked, burping into her palm, causing the girls to laugh and Clarke to smile.

An hour had passed and Raven had fallen asleep. Clarke's head laid in Octavia's lap as they talked about her and Lincoln. Octavia was so happy to talk about him and her two school friends, Jasper and Monty. It was like she was in a whole different world.
Clarke often wondered what it would've been like if she finished school, if she had a job or time to spend with her friends. Her whole life was engulfed by her children and yet whenever she did manage to make time for her friends, drama was always closely behind. It wasn't until a moment later Octavia's phone rang. Her attention was caught and she got up to answer it, but as Clarke went to follow, she heard noise at the other end of her apartment.

Her eyebrow raised as she glanced from her friend to down the dark hall, she heard another faint noise.

Oh, what now?

She huffed, assuming something had broken, or worse, they had mice. She went down to the bathroom, the assumed source of the noise and flicked on the light.
The bathroom was normal, everything where it was suppose to be and cleaned, except a piece of paper that lay on the floor of the room.

Her brow raised as she leans over to pick it up, examining it. Her eyes trailed to the roof, wondering if it fell from a vent, but she couldn't see anything.
It was then she turned the paper over, seeing in scribbled red ink.

'Surprise.'

"Surprise?" Clarke whispered to herself, thinking for a moment when she heard another floorboard creak behind her.
