Octavia's hair was tied back in a neat ponytail, a cute braid to accent it as she carried three bags of groceries from her dads car and into Ash's house."Bellamy?" She Called, walking in unannounced and dumping the groceries onto the kitchen island, her eyes wandering to the living room where Bellamy had been passed out in his boxers and a simple, food stained, grey shirt.
His hair was a mess, but that was his usual for lately. She walked over, about to wake him up when she bumped into Ash, placing in an earring.
"Oh god, Octavia!" Ash shouted as she stepped back, revealing her new tattoo."I'm sorry to frighten you." She huffed at Bellamy's least favourable ex. "Did you get a tattoo?"
The words 'Echo' written out across her inner forearm. Ash pulled her arm out, revealing it to Octavia with pride."Yeah" she smiled lightly, reminiscing about her old childhood friend. She blamed herself for her friends death, but was never comfortable talking about it.
"Nice" Octavia nodded, trying to be nice. "What's wrong with my brother?"
"Oh, he probably had a little bit too much to drink last night." She shrugged, fixing her jewellery.
"Your parents still don't know he's here?""No. And it's probably best that way." Octavia sighed.
"Alright, well I have to go, I'm Meeting friends for some drinks. Lock the door on your way out." Ash Called, abrasively brushing past Octavia and leaving.
"Yeah, like you have friends." Octavia said under her voice as she walked over to her brother.
"Bell." She tried, shaking him. "Hey, Bell.. wake up"Nothing.
"BELLAMY !!" She shouted, watching her brother jump to life, revealing the bags under his eyes.
"Jesus, Octavia." He Called, clutching his head.
"You're right. I am." She said, pulling herself to her feet. "I brought you some groceries so you don't starve."
"What?" He groaned, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. "Oh.. thank you.."
"You gotta come home, Bell. This is ridiculous."
"You know I can't, Octavia."
"But Ash? Really. I thought you two were platonic now.."
"Dont bring Ash into this. I know what I'm doing."
"But, do you?" She scoffed, gesturing to her dingy apartment. "This is a hellhole. Why, out of everyone, why her?"
"Look, she was nice enough to get me a contracting job with her father, okay? I gotta repay her somehow."
"Jesus, Bell. You sound like a cheap whore."
"Look. I don't come into your life and tell you how to run things."
"Yeah, because I'm not a total wreck." She rolled her eyes. "No one has seen Clarke in weeks." She sighed, peaking Bellamy's interest, despite him refusing to look at Octavia.
"Mom and Dad drop by whenever they can to take them off her hands for a while, but she's not doing good, Bellamy. She needs you.""She has Murphy. Finn. She doesn't need me."
"Murphy and Finn aren't the twins fathers. She doesn't love Murphy or Finn the way she loves you-"
"Don't. Octavia. I'm not what she needs."
"Oh bullshit, Bellamy." She shouts. "You're obviously not my brother. You're a wimp. A coward. I've never known you to back down from anything! No matter how hard it was and now, now that you're given one of the most rewarding yet challenging obstacles in your life, you're sitting in your ex girlfriends living room winging like a child."
Bellamy just sat there and took it, he could feel her rage from across the room.
"Either step up to your role, like Clarke has. Or stay out of all of our lives." She groaned, leaving with a thud of the front door.
